What's wrong with this guy? Even he doesn't know how long his unexpected team fight can control the demon, yet Winster is still standing behind him looking completely bewildered.

You're watching the show while I'm playing team fights? I really want to turn into Tahm Kench and spit you, you spectator, into the enemy fountain!

Awakened to his senses by Wayne's roar, Winster's old face suddenly broke into a smile that sent chills down Wayne's spine, as if he had seen a great treasure. He stared at Wayne, his usually stern face now displaying a complex mix of emotions—nostalgia, excitement, and hope—that made his wrinkled, square face look particularly frightening.

But Winster didn't care at all about appearing so undignified in front of his people; on the contrary, he answered in a spirited voice:

"Yes, Your Majesty... no, Your Highness the Prince of Wales!"

Winster felt that his eyes had seen the light.

After a suffocatingly long night, is Victoria finally about to usher in a new dawn?

Chapter Ninety-Eight: Sorry, I'll Meow Like a Cat

This was the first time Wayne had seen Winster, a national treasure of Victoria, personally take action. Seemingly to avoid the attacks of other unicorns disrupting his rhythm, Winster did not even call on other unicorns to launch a feint attack as usual, but instead charged forward alone empty-handed.

Wait, empty-handed?

Wayne's expression froze. Seriously? You unicorns are that powerful? Are you planning to tear apart the demonized inner guards with your bare hands?

No way, I see your disciples and grand-disciples still have small knives and daggers, how come you, such an important person, have fallen behind?

Wayne was just about to find a weapon to throw at Winster, to have a classic "Winster, catch this!" moment, when his outstretched hand awkwardly hovered in the air. After a while, he quietly lowered it as if nothing had happened.

He underestimated Winston, who had lived for so long.

The old man, cloaked in a white hooded robe, embodied the saying "the older you get, the smarter you become." He sprinted to the guards at incredible speed and then extended his hand, which had been hidden inside the white robe.

Along with his hand, a lightsaber was also drawn from the white robe.

It is not a lightsaber made by attaching Originium Arts to a sword-shaped staff with magical conductivity, but a true longsword in the real sense, where the blade, edge, and back of the sword are all made of light, except for the hilt!

The lightsaber struck the black mist protecting the demon from below with incredible speed and from a tricky angle. Given the demon's current posture, it was impossible for it to dodge the attack.

However, in reality, the demon did not dodge the attack. Wayne's Originium Arts lasted for an unexpectedly long time. Even after the lightsaber pierced through the black mist and struck the demon's body, the demon did not react in any way, not even with a single instinctive retreat.

It simply watched as Winster, hooded and wielding a lightsaber, dressed like a Jedi Knight, cleaved its own body in two without uttering a sound or making a move. Only after the lightsaber had completely split the demon in two did Winster cautiously take a few steps back, dissipating the light of the Originium Arts and revealing the hilt of the lightsaber to Wayne.

Wayne's eyes widened in surprise. Good heavens, Winster, you old geezer, you have no sportsmanship, but you're quite good at hiding things. You even managed to pull off this kind of trick while carrying around an old cadre's thermos.

As the black mist dissipated, Wayne was about to step forward when Ernest stopped him. Both he and Winster's gazes were fixed on the fallen demon's body, which had been cut in two by the high temperature of the lightsaber.

Not a drop of blood remained on the ground. Even cleaved in two, all Wayne could glimpse from the broken surface was the deepest, most eerie darkness, signifying that this once-human body had been completely replaced by a demon. At this moment, a vast amount of black mist surged and billowed within the monster's body, something constantly attempting to break free from the mist's constraints and be reborn from this mangled remains. Winster, of course, wouldn't give the demon this second chance at rebirth. The first lesson every unicorn learned on a mission was "finishing the job," and he, as its teacher, was unlikely to make such a mistake.

Seeing this, the old cadre's water cup, which had just been extinguished, immediately spewed out brilliant light again, and the lightsaber formed once more. Winster held the lightsaber upside down and thrust it fiercely towards the [Kingdom] surging within the demon's body.

However, the next second, unexpectedly, it was none other than the captain of the steam-armored soldiers who had just been swallowed up by the Kingdom that emerged from it. He struggled to stick half of his body out of the Kingdom, raised his head, and looked at the lightsaber that Winster had thrust down, a blank expression on his face.

Yes, it was bewilderment. Just as the ancestor of unicorns, who had just been on their side, suddenly turned against them, their ally, the soldier's face showed a bewildered expression.

It was that incredibly genuine expression of bewilderment and helplessness that, for just a fleeting moment, slowed Winston's lightsaber thrust forward.

But as Wayne said, in a duel between masters, this one moment is enough to change a lot of things.

Even if the soldiers' faces had just shown fear or despair, Winston would not hesitate to plunge his lightsaber in. The steam-armored squad, swallowed up at the very beginning of the battle, couldn't possibly know that Winston had attacked the demons, let alone feel fear or despair because of it. Only a bewildered, confused expression could make Winston hesitate subconsciously.

In that instant of hesitation, the soldier, who had just been looking puzzled, suddenly thrust out his arm from within the [Kingdom], which had been corroded and transformed into a beastly claw, and swung it toward the lightsaber in Winster's hand. He used a near-self-harming method to gain maximum speed, trying to strike Winster's hands that were holding the water glass.

Winston's face darkened, and he had no choice but to release the water glass that had been with him for decades. He watched helplessly as the lightsaber, now deprived of Originium Arts power, gradually dimmed and fell onto the demon's body, sinking into the churning darkness of the [Realm].

"hey-hey--"

With a disdainful laugh, the demon nimbly crawled out of its shattered body, manipulating the black mist to once again envelop its side. Then, it melted the broken shell, which had already fulfilled its mission, into the darkness.

"It feels so good to have a different body... The previous body was too rebellious and always subconsciously tried to resist my actions, almost killing me at the hands of that human from a few years ago. I've finally gotten rid of it."

Using a voice completely identical to "the real person," and uttering words that "the real person" could not possibly say, the demon twisted its neck, shifting its gaze from Winster to Wayne:

"It's you."

Its eyes slowly widened:

"It was you, it was you, it was you who told me to stop, right?"

"That's interesting. How did you do that? You were completely unable to resist, even I almost died! You're the one who caused this!"

As the emotions gradually intensify, its words begin to break down, sentences become inverted, and words are repeated, but they all undoubtedly convey the same meaning:

Wayne's sudden use of Originium Arts has truly rendered it "incapable of acting."

Am I that amazing?

Wayne was stunned. He thought that the demon had been standing still and pretending to be a turtle so that Winster could kill it in order to break free from its restraints and activate its second transformation. But it turned out that it really couldn't move.

Is his Originium Arts technique really that powerful? He thought controlling it for a few seconds would be incredible. Or perhaps, is he, Wayne, some kind of legendary person with "a heart of iron, unbreakable"—someone with an incredibly strong, even limitless, willpower?

Since there's no harm in trying, Wayne ignored the demon's relentless questions and the approaching black mist, and instead abruptly said:

"Stop! You shameless old thief!"

A breathtaking scene unfolded before Winston, Ernest, and Mostima for the second time. Just as Wayne had said, the demon froze in place for the second time.

Oh? Not bad!

Wayne raised an eyebrow. He had used this trick on humans before, but the side effects were too severe, both on himself and those he commanded, and it would usually dissipate automatically after a short time. So he really hadn't expected it to be so effective against demons.

However, it's all good news. It's just a pity that Surtr and Mudrock weren't here and didn't witness this cool scene.

Wayne stopped Winster from taking out his flashlight to rebuild a lightsaber, shook his head at him, and began to wait.

About ten minutes later, the demon's body began to tremble.

About twenty minutes later, the demon's body began to tremble more violently, and expressions began to appear on its face.

About thirty minutes later, just as Winster and his men had surrounded the demon, each wielding a lightsaber and preparing to unleash a devastating attack, the demon finally regained consciousness. Looking in Wayne's direction, it raised its hand, manipulating the black mist as it roared with arrogance:

"I'll kill you!"

Then the black mist crashed into the Originium Arts shield formed by the unicorn.

Only then did it realize that, without it noticing, it was now surrounded by troublesome humans of the same race as that difficult old man. A pitifully thick barrier had separated it from them.

However, the difference is that just a few minutes ago, it was it that manipulated the black mist to surround the barrier of light; it was on the outside, and Wayne was on the inside.

Now, it is surrounded by a net of barriers, with Wayne standing on the outside and it inside.

A question mark slowly appeared on the demon's forehead.

What's going on? These humans can teleport, and when did they appear around me?

Suddenly, it realized something, looked at Wayne, and sure enough, saw that eerie smile on Wayne's face.

In this soldier's memory, when the boy in front of him showed that smile, it meant that someone was about to suffer.

So who will suffer the consequences?

Possessing a human body and growing from fragments within it, the demon naturally understood human thought better. Lost in thought, it lowered its head, turning its gaze towards itself.

Hmm... perhaps it's not just humans who will suffer?

The demon suddenly raised its head, looked at Wayne, and roared:

"Human, don't be so presumptuous!"

"shut up!"

"Waaaaah, waaaaah! (Humans, you've gone too far!)"

"Shut up, you demon! You're not allowed to speak!"

(Frantic limb movement: Human, let me go! I'll devour you and make you a part of me!)

"Don't move!"

(Angry glare: Human, you're finished! I'll remember this grudge!)

"You dare glare at me? Bark like a dog, three times, three times!"

Visibly, the demon's body began to tremble violently. Wayne's expression tensed for a moment. Had he gone too far?

However, the next moment, the demon actually broke through the binding force of the words for a brief moment and roared:

"This body is f***ing film!"

Wayne was stunned for a moment, then understood the demon's meaning and apologized:

"Sorry, sorry, I forgot you don't speak a foreign language. Okay then, how about meowing like a cat?"

"Meow--"

Chapter Ninety-Nine: Prepare to Die, Wayne!

The demon collapsed to the ground, its limbs limp, its eyes unfocused, and drool dripping from its mouth.

If I had known earlier, even a demon would be raped...

It couldn't accept it. This was a demon, an enemy of civilization. What human wouldn't be terrified at the sight of it? What army wouldn't tremble at the mere mention of its name? How could it be rendered incapacitated here by a mere boy whose age wasn't even a fraction of its own?

Something must be wrong; this guy's Originium Arts are truly bizarre. The demons have existed for far longer than the Terran era. While this kind of mind-control Originium Arts is extremely rare, perhaps one in a hundred years, it's not entirely unheard of within the demons' timeline. In fact, each demon is a top-tier master of mental manipulation; through corruption, they can control humans much more easily and quickly than sorcerers using complex spells.

Even so, the Originium Arts that Wayne could use against it and even make it difficult to resist were unheard of—what human could be more powerful than a demon in terms of spirit?

Something must have gone wrong!

Could it be because of this body again?

The demon moved its finger slightly, without any subconscious resistance.

The body it once occupied, the "Emperor's Blade," was originally incredibly powerful, its spiritual strength practically indestructible. Even when the corruption had reached an irreversible level, it fought back with all its might against the demon's invasion. Even in the end, when the demon had already taken over its body, it instinctively resisted the demon's every move. This is why, in the battle against the Duke of Normandy a few years ago, the demon nearly perished.

If it weren't for some fool who preserved its fragments, it might never have had the chance to be reborn on this land a few years later.

But this body, this body of Felin, clearly lacks the formidable mental strength of the inner guards. After being dragged into the [Kingdom] by the demons, these humans lost their self-awareness, becoming puppets and nourishment for the [Kingdom's] growth. Whether it's steam-armored soldiers or Lateran wheelbarrow cavalry, the demons can easily possess and manipulate them, reading their memories, learning their knowledge, and imitating their language.

There is no resistance, meaning it is subject to Wayne's control, not because of physical reasons.

The demon strained its eyes upwards, though it was ordered to lie on the ground and could not make any extra movements. It still stubbornly stared at Wayne, the golden figure projected in its eyes, making it even more incredulous.

"I can't sense the aura of an immortal."

It's not that he was possessed and taken over by an immortal, which is why he possesses spiritual power no less than that of a demon. This means that the demon has to admit that this boy truly has a trump card at this age that is enough to overwhelm the demon on the battlefield of the consciousness empire.

Demons don't have self-esteem, but at this moment, perhaps because it possessed a human body and thus gained a trace of emotion, it did feel a "sting" in its heart.
