“Anyone can see there’s a reason,” Eddie said, “but nobody knows why.”

His tone was full of regret, sighing because his gossip desires were not being satisfied.

"You guys think..." Roger asked hesitantly, "was it because of me...?"

“No,” Scott said definitively.

“No,” Milton said calmly.

“No,” Eddie said coldly.

Scott can certainly say for sure that's not the case.

After all, when Kacchini changed, it had been several months since she and Roger broke up, and a long time since Scott stared at Roger's face and met her.

Upon hearing his three roommates' successive denials, Roger fell into complete silence.

After a while, a somewhat deliberate snoring sound came from his bed curtains.

"Don't worry, brother," Eddie said confidently. "I, Eddie Cammitchell, will find out the reason. There's no secret at Hogwarts that I, Eddie Cammitchell, can't uncover!"

"..."

Scott fell asleep with a smile on his face.

Back in his dorm, he chatted and laughed for a while, which relieved his tension and improved his mood.

Chapter 369 Kachini's Late-Night Invitation

Because of his bold statement in the dormitory that he would uncover the reason for the complete change in Cachini, Eddie became completely obsessed with this secret for the next period of time.

Although it is unknown what specific actions he took, Scott saw him mingling with Hufflepuff students for the next few days.

But Eddie's efforts did not yield any effective progress, as evidenced by the fact that he never mentioned the matter.

Surprisingly, compared to Eddie's fruitless efforts, Milton, who often frequented the classical music club with Cachini, got a lead first.

It was another late-night chat in the dorm before bed.

Milton, sitting on the bed, held up his wand and used a drying spell to blow-dry his long hair.

He suddenly said to Scott and the others, "There's something...maybe I should tell you. Just this evening after dinner, while I was practicing at the club, Cachini quietly asked me...would you like to trade away my musical talent?"

Scott and his team were all surprised to hear the news.

Milton's musical talent was given to Caccini by Medea, something they all knew.

but……

"How could that be?" Eddie, the quickest to speak, was the first to exclaim. "Could it be that Kachini has also joined the Green Robe organization under the resurrected witch?"

At this moment, Scott, who was lying on the bed, also frowned.

He found Caccini's question utterly unbelievable, so he said, "Even if Medea agreed to Caccini's request and exchanged her talents with Milton, where else could she find a place like Hogwarts with such a vast magical source to sign a magical oath with her?"

Scott had consulted his Ravenclaw mentor and learned that the magical oath that Medea once ruled, which allowed for the trading of talents, had extremely stringent conditions for signing and operating, and should theoretically be unreplicable.

It was impossible for anyone at Hogwarts to sign such a contract with her again, and besides Hogwarts, Medea could not find any other suitable place in England.

Roger, however, spoke from a different angle, saying in a very surprised tone, "So, she also regrets making the deal with Lady Slytherin?"

This shows that Kacini's initial lack of emphasis on magical talent left a deep impression on him.

“I don’t know.” Milton stopped drying his hair and placed his wand on the small table beside the bed. “She suddenly asked that question and then left without waiting for my answer.”

He ran his fingers through his hair, a hint of hesitation in his expression.

After a few seconds of silence in the dorm room, Scott sat up and asked Milton, "What do you think, Milton?"

“Me?” Milton said, somewhat bewildered. “I’ve already accepted the status quo.”

"But Kacchini's questions have made you waver, haven't they?" Scott asked astutely.

“I…” Milton pursed his lips, “You all said that what she said is impossible, isn’t it?”

Eddie said, "Let's just go ask her tomorrow and ask her why she said those things."

Milton nodded slightly.

“Sorry, I’ll ask around,” he said.

Eddie lifted the bed curtains and peeked out at Milton. "Why are you apologizing?"

Milton smiled sheepishly, "I feel like I've caused you a lot of trouble, especially with this matter. I clearly made the deal with Lady Slytherin willingly in the first place..."

"Don't think too much about it," Scott said with a smile. "Actually, we haven't been able to help you much."

“Anyway, that’s enough.” Milton smiled as well.

Once Scott had settled back down, he heard Roger say, "Scott, Eddie, you two go with Milton to ask Cachini. I won't go."

“Alright,” Eddie said with a grin, “so that Big Sister Cachini won’t want to teach you a lesson whenever she sees you.”

"Hey!" Roger yelled in annoyance.

The next day at noon, Scott and Eddie accompanied Milton to wait at the entrance of the auditorium for Kacchini, who was walking towards them with several girls.

Scott glanced at Cachini without making a sound, and Cachini's appearance changed again.

Among the girls wearing short skirts and stockings, she was the only one wearing men's trousers and leather boots.

Her hairstyle had become a buzz cut that was close to her scalp, and both ears were covered with silver earrings. She also had no makeup on her face.

"Good afternoon, Cachini," Milton greeted him.

“Milton?” Cachini grinned, revealing two sharp canine teeth. “What’s up?”

Her smile had a roguish air about it, and her movements were unrestrained, completely overturning her previous dignified and ladylike image.

Scott was secretly shocked and couldn't help but deliberately sense Kachini's magic to confirm that she was still herself.

The last time I spoke to Kachini up close, her image was exaggerated, but she had only changed from a lady to a hot girl. But now... this girl seems to have blurred her gender.

Although he had seen the girl's drastically different image from afar before, this was his first time seeing her up close, which inevitably made him feel that the impact was too great.

Scott even heard Eddie secretly gasp.

Compared to Scott and Eddie's shock, Milton was already used to Cachini's new look.

He said softly, "About what you told me last night."

"Is that so?" Kachini smiled knowingly. "What do you think?"

“I want to talk to you,” Milton said.

Kacchini nodded. "Talk? Of course."

She turned and said a few words to her companions, and the girls then walked into the auditorium laughing and joking.

Kacchini glanced up at Scott and Eddie again.

"What?" She put a hand on Milton's shoulder. "Are those two your bodyguards or your nannies, little Milton?"

“No…no…” Milton was a little overwhelmed, his face flushed red, and he took two steps back.

At this moment, Scott spoke up, "Hello, Cachini. Eddie and I are just curious about what you're talking about. Is it inconvenient for us to hear?"

Upon hearing this, Kachini's mocking smile faded somewhat.

“Scott, Scott, you’re joking,” she said with a sigh. “Who at Hogwarts could refuse you, Ravenclaw’s genius?”

As she spoke, she spun around on one foot and turned quickly, her long robe swirling in the air in a graceful arc.

“Come with me.” She walked quickly forward. “I know, anyway, telling Milton is the same as telling everyone in your dorm.”

"Walk."

Scott patted Milton, who was still somewhat dazed, and the three of them followed behind Kacchini.

The group quickly left the vicinity of the auditorium and entered an empty classroom nearby.

"Come in quickly." Kachini sat on the desk with his legs crossed, beckoning to the three of them. "Remember to close the door."

Scott closed the classroom door, and the three boys walked up to Kachini.

Milton was about to speak when Caccini raised his hand to stop him.

She pointed at Eddie with a finger adorned with a black ring. "Are you sure you want him to hear the secret I'm about to tell you? I think he'll pass it on to everyone at Hogwarts as quickly as possible."

“That’s slander!” Eddie shouted. “That’s defamation!”

He was so angry he almost lost his temper.

“Don’t worry.” Scott smiled and glanced at Eddie. “This kid knows what can be said and what can’t.”

“Since you put it that way,” Kacchini withdrew his finger and touched his slightly upturned chin, “then let’s leave it at that.”

Scott nodded.

He winked at Milton, then walked over and sat down in a seat.

Eddie sat down next to him.

Milton was left standing alone in front of Cachini.

He asked, "Kachini, what exactly did you mean by what you asked me yesterday?"

“What do you mean?” Kacchini smiled. “It means exactly what it says.”

Milton said, "But..."

“No buts.” Sitting on his desk, Cachini looked down at Milton. “You just need to tell me, Milton Grevis, whether you’d like to switch back.”

“I…” Milton seemed to hesitate for a few seconds, but finally nodded. “Of course, I’m willing to trade my musical talent for it.”

“Very good.” Kacchini moved closer to Milton, whispered something in his ear, and then patted him on the shoulder.

Then, she jumped off the desk and left the classroom, leaving the three boys with a dashing silhouette.

"What happened? What did she just say?" Eddie shouted, annoyed. "Didn't she just say she was going to tell us a secret she couldn't tell anyone else? Why did she just leave like that?"

“She said…” Milton turned around, “She told me to go to the classical music club at midnight tonight.”

Eddie complained, "She must be being mysterious. Why can't she just say what it is now?"

Scott looked at Milton with a questioning gaze. "Are you going tonight?"
