Diana, on the other hand, sat there as if savoring the world's finest food, munching on her ice cream.
Diana didn't care at all what Tony and the person on the phone were up to; the most important thing right now was to enjoy the bowl of ice cream in front of her.
“Okay, but Diana should ultimately have to handle this,” Nick Fury told Tony beforehand.
"If you have a TV nearby, I suggest you turn it on and you'll understand." Nick Fury was still the kind of person who was unwilling to say anything openly.
Tony was all too familiar with this kind of thing; it was nothing more than playing games with you until the very end, revealing their true purpose and the benefits they could ultimately gain.
“Jarvis, let’s see what happened.” Tony sat back on the sofa, facing the television.
“Sir, it seems there’s been some major incident in New York,” Jarvis replied to Tony, turning on the television in front of Tony.
The news on television showed a helicopter hovering over New York, its light shining on the two figures below, each at least two stories tall.
Two enormous creatures were tearing at each other and fighting. Cars were small objects they could easily throw a hundred meters away, and everything around them could be used as weapons to beat each other.
"Jarvis, calculate their stats. I need to know if the Mark IV can hold them off." Tony's face was also grave after watching the battle between the two behemoths on TV. He really didn't have much confidence in the defensive capabilities of his suit anymore.
“I believe you’ve already seen it, Tony. I need you to call Diana. Only she can stop this.” Nick Fury’s voice came through the receiver at just the right moment. With such a big event happening in New York, those news reporters who are willing to risk their lives for sensational stories would definitely write about it extensively. There’s probably every television station in the United States broadcasting this battle in New York right now.
Diana, on the other hand, had absolutely no interest in the fight. One of the two big guys, a green one, was just wildly swinging his arms around, relying on his superior physical abilities. The other, a yellowish-brown one, was probably a guy with a lot of fighting experience before he became a big guy, so he not only had excellent physical abilities but also fighting experience.
According to Diana, without any other external factors, the green giant would eventually be defeated, and it was impossible for it to be killed by the yellowish-brown one.
It's obvious that the big green guy has a stronger self-healing ability than that yellowish-brown guy.
However, given the destructive power of these two, if they continue fighting like this, the entire Harlem area will probably be completely destroyed.
Tony turned around and saw Diana's bored expression. She showed no interest in the fight between the two big guys and seemed to have no intention of saving Harlem.
"Aren't you going over there?" Tony asked Diana. "Aren't you a superhero?"
Diana merely glanced at Tony and said indifferently, "I am a warrior, but that doesn't mean I'll become someone else's weapon. You can ask the guy who called you; he has a prince of Asgard in his hands."
“Asgard?” Tony understood immediately from Diana’s words that Nick Fury was holding something he hadn’t told him. “I think you’d better tell me the truth, otherwise there’s nothing I can do to help you.”
As they were talking, Tony saw a military helicopter arrive at the scene, which caused the live broadcast signal to be interrupted.
"It seems you haven't told me the truth about many things, Director." Tony realized at this moment that there were clearly people in the military doing shady things.
It's like everyone knows you're just a monkey being manipulated, jumping around and making others laugh: "Look at that monkey, it's hilarious!"
You may look like you're saving the world, but you're really just toilet paper for some people.
Tony Stark doesn't want to be a monkey, much less someone else's toilet paper!
“I thought you would be a hero who takes responsibility for the people, Mr. Stark,” Nick Fury said.
“Leave it to me.” Diana reached out her hand to Tony, who had been able to hear Tony and Nick Fury’s conversation the whole time.
Tony's expression wavered upon hearing Nick's words. He didn't want to become a monkey, but he also didn't want innocent people to lose their lives and homes.
As Diana answered the phone, she said to Tony, "Do what you think is right, Iron Man."
Tony didn't delay any longer. He immediately instructed Jarvis to prepare his battle suit and quickly went to the basement to put it on.
“Frey, do you realize that what you’re doing is taking advantage of Tony?”
“Am I supposed to just watch Harlem get destroyed? And Diana, if you had stopped those two big guys from the start, this wouldn’t have happened,” Nick Fury said to Diana without any fear. “Diana, you share the responsibility for this situation.”
“So, you’re partly to blame, Nick Fury,” Diana said, objecting to Nick Fury. “You have another god on Earth besides me, yet you don’t want him to quell this rebellion. Instead, you’re asking me to go. Isn’t that a bit of a roundabout way to do things?”
Nick Fury was taken aback when Diana turned the tables and pinned the same moral blackmail he had used on him, leaving him speechless.
“You took away Thor’s weapon, so he can’t participate.” Nick Fury attributed Thor’s inability to participate entirely to Diana taking away Thor’s Mjolnir.
"Is he the God of Hammers or the God of Thor? Can't he fight without Mjolnir?" Diana said without any mercy.
“Diana, it was you who reminded me that something was wrong with S.H.I.E.L.D. At this point, any power that can be hidden will ultimately be the one to deliver a fatal blow to the hidden force. You should understand that.” Nick Fury completely ignored Diana’s words.
"So you abandoned Harlem?" Diana didn't want to hear any more.
But Nick Fury's voice still reached her ears: "As a global response agency, we must first deal with internal problems, otherwise we will pose a threat to the whole world."
"Then we have nothing more to say." Diana hung up the phone.
“Jarvis, tell Pepper that I need a press conference after this is over,” Diana said to the empty room.
“Yes, Miss Prince.”
"Now, it's time to help Tony deal with those two big guys in New York."
There's no way around it; Harlem is right in Manhattan. What if those two big guys get into a fight and end up at my new home?
Chapter 49 The Death of Hatred
"Jarvis, can you go any faster?" Tony's mask showed the Harlem battle being filmed by Stark Industries satellites, and he couldn't help but feel anxious.
"Sir, this is the maximum speed that the Mark IV can currently reach." Jarvis's voice also carried a hint of human anxiety.
"Damn it!" Tony could only hope that the two big guys would be quiet for a while before he arrived, or at least not smash up a few houses.
Just as Tony was wavering, a point of light in the mask was closing the distance to him at an incomprehensible super speed.
"Jarvis, what is that?" Tony could only ask Jarvis.
“That’s Miss Prince.” Jarvis’s voice seemed to relax, and he said to Tony with a hint of ease.
“Oh Yeah!” Tony suddenly relaxed and even showed a hearty smile.
Diana's rapidly moving figure quickly overtook Tony Stark's Mark IV, but Tony wasn't annoyed at all. He was satisfied as long as he could stop those two big guys from getting to Harlem.
"Sir, Miss Prince is perfectly capable of subduing those two big guys. Should we still go?"
"Go! I'm Iron Man, I'm here to protect them. My presence will help calm the civilians down more quickly and prevent further unrest and turmoil." Tony's smile vanished as he sped off towards New York.
Diana could handle the big guys, but the common people needed his presence.
Diana has now arrived over Harlem, New York. It has to be said that these two behemoths do not seem as powerful as she had thought.
At least, the destructive power couldn't match the results of the Kryptonian war.
"General!" A sharp-eyed soldier spotted Diana high in the sky and shouted to General Ross in the helicopter.
General Ross also noticed the woman in the form-fitting Greek armor. He was very familiar with Diana; she was the culprit behind the failed attempt to recapture the White Queen.
Before the hot-tempered general could even order the fall of Diana, Diana's figure had already vanished from the sky.
Hulk felt a small fist hit his face, and then he was slammed to the ground.
"Big green guy, stay here for now, I'll come find you later."
The fist that slammed Hulk to the ground belonged to Diana.
Diana floated in the air, meeting those hateful eyes: "To be honest, you're too ugly. And you always remind me of some unpleasant memories."
"A big guy as ugly as you once hit me with a car, so..."
Diana accelerated rapidly through the air towards the Abomination, and the instantaneous high speed created a sonic boom cloud where Diana had been floating.
Diana was like a supersonic missile striking hatred squarely in the chest.
"Boom!"
Diana's fist collided with Abomination's chest, creating a shockwave that was almost visible to the naked eye.
Under Diana's power, the Abomination, who had been fighting the Hulk to a standstill and neither could break through the other's defenses, now had its chest caved in and was slowly recovering.
Even with his healing abilities comparable to the Hulk, he couldn't completely ignore such injuries.
"Hulk!" A roar came from behind Diana, and at the same time a green fist came straight for Diana's head.
Diana simply floated slightly to the side, moving a little distance away, and perfectly avoided the green fist.
"I'm telling you, just stay where you are, just stay put!"
The same trick she used on Abomination was applied to Hulk again, but this time Diana hammered Hulk into the ground from top to bottom.
Landing beside Hulk, Diana clasped her hands together and slammed them into Hulk's abdomen. The powerful blow pierced through Hulk's body, shattering the ground within a hundred meters and even creating a crater-like formation.
Thor, watching this scene from the Tri-Wing Tower, suddenly jumped up excitedly and pumped his fist: "Yeah! That's it!"
The agents standing nearby looked at this simpleton, who had been specially recruited by their director, with puzzled expressions.
Looking at Hulk at her feet, Diana was certain that the green behemoth wouldn't be able to slowly float out of the crater she had created after getting up anytime soon.
The Abomination, who had been knocked away by Diana, had basically regained its mobility at this moment, but the dent in its chest had clearly not fully healed.
Diana smiled slightly, a smile born of the passion of battle.
She stopped floating in the air and landed on the ground. She adjusted her protective silver bracelet and walked towards the abomination.
"Damn little bug!" Abomination saw Diana fall to the ground and strode towards her.
He then leaped high into the air, his hands forming hammers as he smashed them down on the tiny insect that could only injure him because it could fly.
Diana smiled, slightly crouched down, and then suddenly jumped up. The ground beneath her feet cracked open the moment she jumped, leaving it full of fissures.
Abomination should have fallen rapidly due to gravity, but Diana, who jumped from the ground, overtook him and delivered a powerful right hook to Abomination.
Abominations are like baseballs hit into the field, crashing through a building and sliding along the ground until they finally come to a stop after hitting another building. But the building where the abominations stopped is now riddled with cracks of varying sizes, clearly no longer a proper building.
Diana also fell from the height she had jumped, kicking up a little dust.
"Wow, looks like you're much more destructive than those two big guys." At this moment, Tony Stark finally arrived at the scene, and he could clearly see through his mask how Diana fought against those two big guys.
Not to mention the ruins in front of us, which are far larger than the area affected by the two big guys fighting to the death.
“There are no civilians in this area anymore. At least, I can’t hear a single heartbeat except for those two big guys,” Diana said calmly to Tony. “Besides, the losses from this accident can’t be borne by an ordinary person like me who makes a living from Stark Industries. Aren’t the bigwigs in the military taking responsibility?”
“If you’re an ordinary person, then what am I?” Tony retorted to Diana’s words with a hint of annoyance.
"Super genius, billionaire, womanizer, philanthropist." Diana recited these labels about Tony Stark as if reading from a script.
Tony felt something was off inside the suit, but he couldn't quite put his finger on it.
“Go and appease the civilians, and find the guy who carried out this plan.” Diana noticed that the Abomination in the distance had stood up again, but this time it didn’t rush towards her; instead, it turned and tried to flee the place.
Diana was like a supersonic missile launched, leaving Tony with a sonic boom cloud before hurtling towards Abomination.
"Hey! Why do I keep feeling like you're stealing my lines?!" Tony yelled at Diana, who was charging towards Abomination. Indeed, all that could be seen was Diana kicking the fleeing Abomination back again. Tony, inside his suit, shrank back and decided to go and calm the crowd down, and also talk to the military representative in the sky.
Just as Tony left the ground, Abomination was already being blasted towards him by Diana's kick, kicking up a cloud of dust.
"Roar!" Abomination roared loudly in the direction from which he was flying. He did want to become the strongest, but the woman in front of him was clearly more than one level stronger than him.
