"I just..." Tony said bitterly, but the words wouldn't come out. The number of families torn apart because of him is simply incalculable.

Diana patted Tony on the shoulder: "What's done is done, you can't undo it. No matter how hard you try, it's no use. There's only one thing you can do now."

Tony looked at Diana with a somewhat bewildered expression.

He tapped the thing on Tony's chest that he called the Dangerous Gift, the Arc Reactor.

“Don’t waste your life,” Diana said.

Tony was looking at the small halo on his chest when he heard those words. As those words that had once warned him echoed in his ears again, Tony rallied once more.

“Someone said the same thing to me.” Tony’s tone was wistful as he looked at the two little ones frantically carrying food to his small table. “I couldn’t save him.”

Diana didn't speak. She was perfectly capable of saving Tony when he disappeared or when he was about to escape. But she didn't.

It's not just because she wasn't interested, but also because only those who can bear loss can shoulder hope.

“When I saw you building the Quiet Room, I knew you had the ability to save Ethan and me. I really wanted to confront you and ask why you didn’t come to save us, so Ethan wouldn’t have died,” Tony said, arms crossed. “But then I realized that some things can only be truly understood by regaining them and losing them again.”

Diana looked at this arrogant and conceited man and never imagined that his words would have such a profound impact on him.

"Feel sorry."

Diana's voice reached Tony's ears, and the bitter expression on his face slowly disappeared.

Tony reverted to his flippant self. "What kind of things are they picking? I need to give these two kids some pointers on their taste."

As he spoke, he walked toward the table that had been completely covered by the two little ones.

Tony Stark, who argued with the two kids about which one tasted better, carried a burden far greater than anyone else could imagine.

Sometimes, all he might need is an apology.

Chapter 81 Returning Home

When I boarded Tony's private jet again, the desolation of when I first arrived was gone.

Not only did Tony Stark join the party, but two little ones also joined the flight back to America.

Wanda and Pietro were still at an age where they loved to play; even with their extraordinary abilities, they were still just children. The two little ones looked around and touched everything on Tony's plane, quite curious.

But the words he spoke caused Tony's already wounded heart to suffer even more pain.

"This plane is probably not as fast as I can run," Pietro said, but his eyes never stopped, clearly revealing the white-haired boy's hypocrisy.

What hurt Tony even more was that the little witch standing next to him nodded seriously.

If you nod, then put down that ice cream you're holding!

Tony could only stare at Diana with a somewhat resentful look in his eyes.

Diana smiled indifferently at Tony's gaze, completely ignoring the look of a resentful woman in his eyes.

"What's wrong with him?" Fisk had never seen the usually difficult Tony Stark behave like this before; he was completely different from his usual unrestrained self.

“It’s nothing,” Diana said with a smile and a shake of her head at Fisk.

After all, when Tony tried to teach the two kids what the best foods were, they completely ignored him. However, they would still listen to Tony's advice and go get those delicious things, even though they wouldn't give Tony a friendly look.

How could Tony, who was once the center of attention, possibly bear it? But he silently endured it, and although he had some minor emotional outbursts, he still persevered.

After having a heart-to-heart talk with Tony, Diana roughly understood how heavy the burden Iron Man had always carried was, something that was suffocating.

But his sometimes unbearable personality trait might just be a shell he uses to protect himself. Although he always felt he didn't need this protective shell, he was still just a guy who bore responsibilities that ordinary people couldn't understand.

Tony, perhaps sensing Diana's gaze, gave her a slightly roguish smile.

It was obvious that the little witch didn't want this guy to make that expression on Diana's face, which was clearly not funny. As she passed Tony, the little witch stomped hard on the back of his foot.

"Ah!" Tony glared at the little witch who had dashed off to the other side, and then chased after her.

Diana stopped paying attention to Tony and the two little ones and turned to look at Fisk in front of her.

"How's it going at the high table?" Diana asked Fisk.

“Everything is settled. From today onwards, the High Table will be in complete contact with the Insightful. The influence of the High Table throughout the United States will become a weapon in my hand, and also a weapon in the Insightful’s hand.” Fisk made no mention of anything related to Diana; as long as it was related to the Insightful, that was enough.

"Those guys haven't made a move?" Diana thought, resting her chin on her hand.

Fisk shook his head. To be honest, he wasn't quite sure what these so-called gods were up to either. They were all as calm and collected as old dogs.

Diana chuckled, "That's interesting. You want to see what Zeus does, don't you?"

It's not hard to deduce that Diana had just defeated Heracles, Zeus's subordinate, and the other gods didn't want anything to happen to their own. In this era, the possibility of a new god emerging was infinitely low; the gods in any pantheon were a non-renewable resource.

If one of these were to break, I'd be heartbroken for half a day; it's not like Odin or Zeus, who have vast fortunes.

Now they just want to see how Zeus deals with Diana. If he wins, everyone will continue living as before; if he loses, well, sorry, Zeus? We don't know him.

"What Zeus?" Before anyone knew it, the little witch had already crouched behind Diana's chair.

"It's nothing, just a stinky old man who calls himself a god," Diana said nonchalantly, stroking the little witch's beautiful brown hair.

“Alright.” The little witch didn’t dwell on it and turned to Diana, asking, “So we’re family from now on, right?”

Before boarding the plane, Diana asked the two little ones about adoption.

Wanda was naturally delighted, but Pietro still had some doubts. However, after thinking about it, he nodded. They didn't possess anything worth Diana's effort to acquire.

Besides, her younger sister had always wanted to have her own home, and now her wish has finally come true.

Diana nodded: "From now on, we're family. But we still need to go through some formalities, it'll be quick."

"Should I change how I address you?" Wanda asked cautiously.

Diana pretends to be thinking.

Wanda looked a little embarrassed, but she really wanted to know the answer.

“That depends on your choice. After all, your wishes are also very important, aren’t they?” Diana said, tapping Wanda’s forehead.

It has to be said that the two little ones were much more stable than she had expected, and only on occasional moments would Diana realize that the two little ones were still just children.

As Wanda listened to Diana's words, a sweet smile appeared on her lips.

Wanda walked up to Diana, hugged her, and then followed Pietro to continue provoking Tony.

“These two little ones are so lucky to have someone like you.” Fisk could sense the loving look in Diana’s eyes as she looked at the two children.

“No, Fisk,” Diana said, “it’s just that I don’t want to see them go down a sad path.”

Wanda, who was laughing happily, should not have such a sad future, she never should.

Meanwhile, in the distant realm of Olympus, Zeus was rubbing his temples with some distress.

He never imagined that Hercules would fail, and that he would be utterly crushed and humiliated, and ultimately captured.

Zeus sat on his throne, pondering how to retrieve Heracles from the earth, and while he was at it, how to capture the goddess who had offended him as well.

He wouldn't go to Earth himself; that would make Odin laugh his head off.

He aimlessly brandished his lightning-shaped weapon, thunder. But even in this tedious swinging, a thunderbolt struck Zeus's heart, and he finally thought of someone.

It can represent both the orthodox gods of Olympus and the high-end combat power of Olympus.

He is not a demigod like Hercules. If he could just get involved, a little goddess who had fallen to Earth would be easy to capture.

And this person is naturally the guy who is still immersed in the battle.

Ares, the god of war.

Chapter 82 Hammer Industries' Press Conference

"I've basically spent the last two days on airplanes." Diana stretched, and the little witch next to her stretched as well.

"Hey!" Pepper spotted Diana from a short distance away and waved to her.

"Pepper." Diana waved to Pepper as well.

Then, she led the little witch beside her toward Pepper. Diana and Pepper, two women who were now quite close, embraced.

Pepper also noticed the little witch that Diana had brought with her. As the two separated from their embrace, the woman knelt down and extended her hand to the little witch in a friendly manner, saying, "Hello, little princess. I am Pepper Potts, Diana's friend."

“Wanda, Wanda Django Maximov.” The little witch timidly extended her hand and grasped Pepper’s hand.

“That’s great.” Pepper and Wanda’s handshake lasted only a short while. Pepper stood up, patted Wanda’s little head, and said to Diana, “Everything is ready. As long as you sign the papers now and the two children register, you will be their legal foster mother.”

Diana looked at Pepper with gratitude. Only this woman could manage Tony Stark's life so well. Everything proceeded smoothly under Pepper's management, which explained why she was able to support Stark Industries later on.

“Thank you, Pepper,” Diana said to Pepper.

Pepper shook her head and said, "It's okay, we don't need that kind of thing between us."

"Ladies, isn't anyone paying attention to us?" Tony pointed at his group of men, who had been ignored by the ladies from the very beginning.

"Pietro, come here." Diana beckoned Pietro to her side.

The white-haired boy shrugged at Tony and said, "Didn't you notice?" Then he came over to Diana's side.

Fisk, standing nearby, didn't do anything like that with Tony either; his men had arrived at the airport early to pick him up. Fisk simply nodded to Diana before leaving Tony's side.

Fisk got in the car, Pietro defected, and even Happy is now Pepper's driver.

Tony was all alone.

"Oh, okay, it's just me again, please." Tony said with his arms outstretched, looking quite helpless.

Even when looking at Happy with hopeful eyes, Happy could only look away, pretending to observe the stars in the sky with an expression of how brilliant the starry sky was.

“Happy, right now the only star you can observe is the closest star to us, the Sun.” Tony ruthlessly exposed Happy’s pretense.

Happy wasn't embarrassed at being exposed; he simply nodded calmly and said, "That's right, I was observing the sun."

"Would you like me to take a closer look for you?" a female voice interjected at this moment.

Happy paused for a moment, then realized it was that person speaking—wasn't it Diana? Happy quickly shook his head: "I'm with you, miss."

“Alright, stop teasing them,” Pepper said with a laugh, taking a document from Happy’s car. “Sign this, and you’ll be a mother of two.”

Diana took the document: "I thought you were going to say that if I signed it, I would be the CEO of Stark Industries."

Pepper shrugged. "Maybe, but unfortunately, I'm not the kind of person who can make that kind of decision right now."

"Didn't I leave you a message when I left?" Tony interjected, appearing in front of the group at some point. "I think I did leave you a message, didn't I?"
