"Alright, visitor from another world, you've given me quite a 'surprise.' Now, let's talk about terms."

"Conditions?" Frillie frowned slightly.

“That’s right.” Xia Mi pointed outside the cave. “Those two are lying outside, especially Chu Zihang. He already knows too much. This is troublesome. I don’t want my campus life to end like this, nor do I want to start a war with Kassel College right now. That’s too boring.”

“So,” she crouched down to meet Frilian’s gaze, “you do me a small favor. Use your magical little tricks to make Chu Zihang forget what just happened, forget my identity, and only remember that we worked together to defeat Odin’s puppets; everything else will just be a blurry nightmare. How about that?”

Chapter 205 Whispers

Modifying memories is an extremely dangerous and unethical form of magic, but in the current situation, there is no other choice. It is obvious which is more dangerous: an enraged dragon king who knows the truth or one willing to maintain peace temporarily.

“Okay,” Frillian finally nodded. “But I need to restore some of my magic, and I can’t guarantee it will be flawless; there might be some fragments of memory remaining.”

“A few fragments are fine, as long as the key parts are blurred,” Xia Mi said with satisfaction. “As for Senior Brother Lu Mingfei…”

She paused for a moment, then said, "He seems to be a bit special. Memory modification might not be effective for him, or it could even have the opposite effect. I will talk to him personally and teach him to control his tongue."

“In return,” Xia Mi stood up, her tone becoming lighter, “I guarantee you will all leave Nibelungen safely. And I, Jormungandr, the King of the Earth and Mountains, will continue to remain at Kassel College as my student, under the identity of ‘Xia Mi.’ How about it? Isn’t that a good deal?”

After a moment's thought, Frillie realized that this was indeed the best course of action.

"make a deal."

"Great!" Xia Mi's mood improved considerably.

She turned and walked out of the cave, coming to Lu Mingfei and Chu Zihang.

She first squatted down next to Lu Mingfei and whispered something quickly. Lu Mingfei's eyes widened at first, and he tried his best to refute, but Xia Mi simply stretched out a finger and gently tapped his forehead. Lu Mingfei immediately became like a duck with its neck being choked, unable to speak. His face was filled with fear and helplessness. In the end, he nodded with difficulty as if he had resigned himself to his fate.

As for what they talked about, Xia Mi asked Frillie to take Chu Zihang aside, as she and Lu Mingfei had something to say.

Xia Mi squatted down beside Lu Mingfei, the exaggerated smile on the clown mask almost touching her face. Despite his serious injuries, Lu Mingfei could still feel a cold, inhuman aura emanating from behind the mask, making his hair stand on end.

"Hmm, Senior Brother Lu," Xia Mi's voice was low, coming through the mask, "We need to talk."

Lu Mingfei hissed in pain and managed to say with difficulty, "Talk, talk about what? Junior sister, please, please tell me."

"What do you want to talk about?" Xia Mi chuckled softly, raising her fingertip and gently touching Lu Mingfei's forehead. Her fingertip was icy cold, not the temperature a human should have. Lu Mingfei immediately felt a chill rush to his brain, almost freezing his thoughts, and all the words he wanted to say were stuck in his throat.

“Let’s talk about everything you saw and heard today,” Xia Mi’s voice slithered into his ears like a venomous snake. “For example, who am I? For example, who is that big, dumb guy inside? For example, who was that old conman with the one-eyed mask just now?”

Lu Mingfei's pupils shrank drastically. He tried frantically to shake his head, but was suppressed by that cold power and could not move.

"Shh, don't rush to deny it." Xia Mi tightened her fingertips slightly, and Lu Mingfei immediately felt a splitting headache. "I know you're a coward, I know you're afraid of death, I know you wish you could shrink into your shell and pretend nothing happened."

"But," she changed the subject, "there are some things you can't just forget. Especially my secrets."

Her face drew even closer, and Lu Mingfei could even see through the eye holes of the mask the outline of the cold, vertical pupils that no longer belonged to a human girl.

“Listen, Lu Mingfei.” Every word was like an icicle, slamming into Lu Mingfei’s mind. “What happened today, about my identity, about my brother, about Odin. You’d better keep it all to yourself. Don’t say a word about it to anyone, remember, anyone—including Nono, including Fingel, and especially those old guys at the academy.”

"You can treat it as a nightmare, a hallucination, think whatever you want. But if you can't control your mouth, then your nightmare will become real."

"I have many ways to make someone disappear without a trace, or worse. Believe me, you don't want to experience that. And don't forget, I know a lot of your 'little secrets.' Like who you secretly like, or your inexplicable good luck. I'm curious, what interesting things would happen if I revealed a little bit of these secrets to you?"

Lu Mingfei was terrified, his blood running cold. He had no doubt about Jormungandr's words; she was absolutely capable of doing it!

"So, be a good girl, keep your mouth shut. That way, you can continue to be your S-class darling at Kassel College, and I can continue to be my beloved classmate. We can live in peace and not interfere with each other, isn't that great?"

She finally removed those cold fingers.

Like a drowning man finally getting air, Lu Mingfei gasped for breath, his entire body drenched in cold sweat. He stared at the clown mask so close to him, as if he could see the cold gaze of a giant dragon behind it.

He had no doubt that if he dared to say "no," he would be torn to pieces the next second.

"I...I don't know anything," Lu Mingfei said through gritted teeth, his voice trembling uncontrollably. "I had a nightmare today. I ran into Odin and got beaten half to death. It was you and my senior brother who saved me."

"So smart!" Xia Mi patted his face with satisfaction. The movement was very light, but it gave Lu Mingfei goosebumps. "That's it. Keep it up."

She stood up, as if they had just had a pleasant chat.

Lu Mingfei collapsed to the ground, his heart filled with endless fear and a single, unwavering thought: he must never tell anyone, no matter what. The secret about Xia Mi was forbidden.

Then, she walked up to Chu Zihang.

Chu Zihang kept his eyes closed, unwilling to look at her.

Xia Mi sighed, her tone softening slightly: "Chu Zihang, don't look so bitter and resentful. Sometimes, it's better not to know than to know."

She gestured to Frilian inside the cave.

Frilian struggled to her feet, walked to Chu Zihang's side, gently placed her hand on his forehead, and began to chant a soft elven incantation. A gentle green light flowed into Chu Zihang's mind.

Chu Zihang's body twitched slightly, his brows furrowed as he resisted the magic, but ultimately he fell into a deep coma due to his severe injuries and the effects of the magic.

After doing all this, Frillie was almost exhausted and collapsed to the ground again.

Xia Mi looked at the unconscious Chu Zihang, then at the silent Lu Mingfei beside her, and finally glanced at her unconscious brother in the cave.

She slowly raised her hand and took off the clown mask she always wore.

Beneath the mask, the face revealed was indeed that of Xia Mi—exquisitely beautiful, with a hint of slyness in her smile.

"Okay," she said, tossing the mask to the ground. "Let's rest for a bit, then we should go back to school."

Chapter 206 The End of the Nibelungen Incident on the Beijing Subway

Frillie coughed, signaling Xia Mi to use force to put Chu Zihang to sleep.

Xia Mi understood immediately and elbowed Chu Zihang in the back of the head, leaving him momentarily stunned.

Chu Zihang fell into a deep coma. Despite the intense dizziness and weakness caused by her depleted magic, Frilian gently placed her slender hand on his forehead once more. Her fingertips emitted an extremely faint green glow, like a candle flickering in the wind.

This time, it's no longer about communication and guidance, but about carefully peeling away and covering up.

The elves' memory magic wasn't a brutal erasure, but rather a delicate weaving and smoothing. Frilian concentrated her last bit of mental energy, like a master weaver, carefully finding the key threads of memory in Chu Zihang's mind—the threads concerning Xia Mi's true identity, Jormungandr, and Odin calling her "sister."

These memories, because they were recent and incredibly impactful, were vivid and sharp. Frilian gently smoothed the sharp edges of these threads, softening their colors, gradually removing and blurring the most crucial evidence pointing to the Dragon King. She veiled the image of "Xia Mi removing the clown mask" with a layer of mist, distorted the sound of "Odin calling Jormungandr" into indistinguishable noise, shattered and reassembled the scene of Xia Mi wielding her power and confronting Odin, blurring the specific image of the spellcaster, leaving only the vague concept of "powerful external assistance."

This process was extremely mentally taxing; Frilian's face grew paler and paler, and her body swayed precariously. But she had to finish. She carefully wove these processed, now ambiguous fragments of memory together with the "new memories" that were about to be implanted, such as "fighting together," "repelling Odin's puppets," and "the self-destruction of the Earth King," striving to make it natural and flawless.

Ultimately, she infused a guiding magic, making these modified memories easier for Chu Zihang to accept and identify with.

After doing all this, Frillie was almost completely exhausted, collapsing limply to the side, unable to move even a finger. Chu Zihang's brows furrowed slightly in his unconsciousness, his subconscious still resisting this alteration, but eventually calmed down.

After some time, thanks to her elven constitution and meditation, Frilian regained a small amount of magic. She struggled to her feet and looked into the depths of the cave.

There remained the deep imprints left by Fenrir's massive, mountain-like dragon body as it had crouched, along with some scattered, incredibly hard, dark blue scales. These traces must not be left.

She took a deep breath, raised her staff which had regained its faint light, and pointed it at the marks.

"Ancient spirits, heeding prayers, gather here, and bloom the flower of the end—Holy Magic: Spirit Burst!"

She chanted a short elven incantation, highly compressing the small amount of magic she had recovered, and then detonated it.

Boom!

A deafening roar, far more muffled yet more destructive than any previous explosion, erupted deep within the cave. Blinding white light instantly engulfed the area, and terrifying energy shockwaves spread outwards like a tsunami, melting, vaporizing, and reshaping the rocks.

This was no ordinary explosion, but a high-level spell in elven magic that instantly transforms magical power into pure destructive energy. It is usually used for mutual destruction or to destroy a specific target, and its power is extremely concentrated and thorough.

After the light faded, all that remained of the area where Fenrir's body had stood was a huge, deep pit with glassy edges. All traces of its existence—scales, indentations, even its aura—were completely annihilated by the extreme heat and energy burst, as if a dragon king had never existed there at all.

After finishing this task, Frillie completely exhausted her last bit of strength, and her vision went black as she fainted.

……

After an unknown amount of time, Chu Zihang was the first to wake up. He felt a splitting headache, and his memory was shrouded in a thick fog, with many details blurred. He only vaguely remembered a fierce battle, Odin's puppet army, a powerful, masked henchman whose image was still indistinct, and Fenrir, the king of the earth and mountains, choosing to self-destruct in his defeat, the terrifying power of which almost destroyed the entire Nibelungen, and they themselves nearly perished in the explosion.

He looked around, and sure enough, the surrounding environment had become extremely unstable, with spatial rifts appearing and disappearing intermittently, as if the realm was about to collapse. Lu Mingfei and Frilian lay unconscious to the side, while Xia Mi sat not far away, her face also somewhat pale, watching him with concern.

"Senior brother! You're awake!" Xia Mi saw him wake up and immediately showed a relieved expression. She quickly came over and said, "That's great! We almost died here! That Dragon King was too terrifying. He actually self-destructed in the end."

Chu Zihang rubbed his throbbing temples, trying to shake off the blurry fragments of memory. Xia Mi's words matched the remaining pieces of his memory. Although he felt something was off, his exhaustion from the severe injuries and the impending collapse of Nibelungen left him no time to think about it.

"Quickly, get out of here," he said with difficulty, struggling to get up to check on Lu Mingfei and Frilian.

Lu Mingfei was also quickly shaken awake. He received a warning look from Xia Mi and immediately followed up with a look of lingering fear, saying, "Yeah, yeah! I was so scared! I almost became a roast goose! It was all thanks to Senior Sister Xia Mi and that, who was it again? Anyway, we fought together and managed to take down that big guy."

Frillie was finally awakened. She nodded weakly and didn't say much.

The four men, supporting each other, struggled to retreat along the path they had come from. Behind them, the Nibelungen continued to collapse, the passage twisting and disappearing.

……

Near the entrance to the Nibelungen, Nono had been pacing for an unknown amount of time, her anxiety and unease reaching a fever pitch. She had tried everything, but to no avail, she could break through that invisible barrier.

Suddenly, the space in front of them distorted and fluctuated.

Immediately afterwards, four disheveled and injured figures stumbled out of the crowd. They were none other than the missing Lu Mingfei, Chu Zihang, Frilian, and Xia Mi.

Nono's pupils contracted, and she immediately rushed forward: "How are you?!"

Her gaze immediately turned sharply to Xia Mi. Why was Xia Mi with them? Shouldn't she be searching for clues outside Beijing?

Chu Zihang explained weakly, "We met Xia Mi inside. She seemed to have come in following the clues as well. Later, we fought against the Dragon King together."

Lu Mingfei nodded vigorously, "Yes, yes, Xia Mi is amazing! She was a huge help! Otherwise, we would definitely be dead!"

Frillie added softly, "Yes, she provided crucial help."

Nuonuo looked at Xia Mi suspiciously. Xia Mi also looked exhausted and still in shock. She patted her chest and said in a voice full of lingering fear, "I was so scared. I didn't expect it to be so terrifying inside. Luckily, I met Senior Brother Chu and the others."

Nono's gaze swept back and forth between Xia Mi, Lu Mingfei, and Frilian. Her keen intuition told her that things were definitely not that simple! Xia Mi's appearance was too coincidental, and Lu Mingfei's and the elf girl's reactions were a little too similar? As if they were deliberately covering something up.

She strongly suspected that Xia Mi was the Dragon King! But she had no evidence. Chu Zihang was completely unaware of this, and Lu Mingfei and Frilian were united in covering for Xia Mi. The Nibelungen had collapsed, and all traces had vanished.

She stared intently at Xia Mi, who returned an innocent yet somewhat weary look.

"Hmph," Nono snorted coldly, ceasing her questioning and turning to contact the academy for help. But a deep seed of doubt had already been planted in her heart.

BJ, in a suite at a top-tier hotel.

Lu Mingze swirled the blood-red wine in his glass, gazing at the city nightscape outside the window. His delicate face bore a melancholy and... a hint of restlessness that seemed out of place for his age.

"Plans can't keep up with changes," he sighed, downing his drink in one gulp. "My brother suddenly has an elf nanny from another world by his side. Things are getting interesting."

Su Enxi sat on the sofa next to her with her legs crossed, eating potato chips, and said indistinctly, "Boss, your game has been messed up quite a bit. That Frilian seems to be quite protective of Lu Mingfei. With her around, it's going to be much harder to fool, uh, make a deal with my brother."

Mai Shude wiped her ninja sword and added casually, "Her power is very special. It can restrain or even transform the power of the dragon race to a certain extent, which is a huge variable."

“It’s more than just a variable,” Lu Mingze rubbed his temples. “It’s practically a bug! With her around, the chances of my brother relying on me are greatly reduced! This won’t do! My bond with my brother is the most important thing!”

Su Enxi's eyes darted around, and a sly smile appeared on her face: "Boss, since the gentle protection route has been taken by someone else, let's try a different approach."
