"Body-enhancing magic." Frillian raised her wand, and just in case, she cast enhancement magic on both Lu Mingfei and Chu Zihang.
Chu Zihang got into docking position: "Three, two."
"boom!"
Lu Mingfei looked up and saw a steel support weighing several tons slowly falling from the broken track. Under the effect of zero time, this deadly threat turned into a nightmare in slow motion.
A huge shadow gradually enveloped the two of them.
"A sudden burst of blood!" Lu Mingfei and Chu Zihang shouted in unison.
Lu Mingfei felt the dragon blood in his body boiling, and it felt as if lava was flowing through his veins instead of blood.
His golden eyes ignited, and everything in his vision slowed down. He superimposed his own Time Zero on top of Angers' Time Zero Domain.
Golden flames also ignited in Chu Zihang's eyes.
"Junyan!" A burst of scorching flames erupted, blasting directly at the falling steel support structure.
The moment Junyan collided with the steel, the support was melted into molten iron, but under the influence of gravity, this liquid metal at thousands of degrees still poured towards the two of them.
"There's no escaping it!" Lu Mingfei exclaimed.
Chu Zihang crossed his arms in front of him, and Junyan formed a wall of fire in an attempt to deflect the flow of molten iron.
Most of the molten metal was forcibly diverted and flowed past the two men, but the shockwave from the explosion still sent Chu Zihang flying.
"Senior brother!" Lu Mingfei watched helplessly as Chu Zihang's body flew backward like a kite with a broken string, crashing into the sharp track support.
"Tsk," Xia Mi clicked her tongue, and made her move.
"The Eye of the Wind King!"
Instantly, a violent airflow erupted centered on Xia Mi, creating layers of air cushions along Chu Zihang's trajectory. Chu Zihang crashed into them, the air cushions vibrated and absorbed the force, ultimately allowing him to land safely on the train carriage.
Angers fell into a deep coma at this moment, the zero-time domain shattered like glass, and the world began to accelerate.
"Now!" Lu Mingfei roared. In the instant before the domain completely disappeared, he and Chu Zihang simultaneously slammed the two wires together.
A blinding flash of light erupted, and the emergency brakes activated. The roller coaster emitted a teeth-grinding screeching sound, beginning to slow down at the last moment before it was about to derail.
"Hold on tight!" Chu Zihang grabbed the railing. The roller coaster continued to rush forward a few meters due to inertia, its front end hanging over the edge of the broken track. After a second's pause, it slowly reversed.
"It's a success." Lu Mingfei slumped to the ground, his clothes soaked with sweat.
"Fountain of Life," Frilian's healing magic showered down like spring rain.
Lu Mingfei felt the effects of the blood explosion fading rapidly, and Chu Zihang's charred left hand skin was regenerating at a visible speed.
Xia Mi supported the unconscious Angers, and the bloodstains on the principal's face gradually disappeared in the magical light.
The roller coaster finally returned to the safety track, and the brakes made a clicking sound as they released pressure.
Lu Mingfei looked into the carriage, where the expressions of the ordinary passengers changed from fear to unbelievable ecstasy.
The mother held her child tightly, sobbing. The young man slumped in his seat, gasping for breath. The old man opened his eyes and trembled as he made the sign of the cross on his chest.
Lu Mingfei slumped at the back of the car, looking at his still trembling hands. Chu Zihang walked over and sat down beside him, the two of them standing silently on the broken tracks.
"About Blood Explosion," Lu Mingfei asked hesitantly.
"We'll talk about it later," Chu Zihang said, gently shaking his head.
In the distance, the sirens of police cars and the wail of ambulances grew closer, but right now, Lu Mingfei just wanted to close his eyes and be thankful that everyone had survived.
Chapter 74 Sushi
The sirens of the rescue team pierced the night sky as several ambulances and fire trucks surrounded the roller coaster. Under the bright lights, paramedics quickly set up stretchers and checked the injuries of the frightened passengers.
"Madam, please keep your breathing steady!" the paramedic said, pressing down on a trembling mother and putting an oxygen mask on her. Her child was gently taken away by a nurse.
Firefighters used hydraulic shears to dismantle the twisted safety barriers and assist passengers in evacuating. An elderly man, slumped in his seat due to shock, was immediately given a sedative by paramedics.
"Those with minor injuries, move to the left! Seriously injured patients will be prioritized for hospitalization!" The rescue commander, holding a megaphone, directed everyone to evacuate in an orderly manner.
Lu Mingfei breathed a sigh of relief as he watched this scene unfold. Fortunately, no one had died.
He rubbed his temples; his muscles were a little sore. Frilian's healing magic had relieved most of the pain, and even Angers was almost healed.
"Ahem," Angers took the folding knife back from Chu Zihang, his face becoming much rosier. "Does anyone want to eat sushi? There's a good sushi restaurant nearby, and the chef's grandfather is an old friend of mine."
"Sushi?" Xia Mi asked, "Is it the kind of high-end stuff that melts on your tongue like snowflakes?"
“Of course,” Angers smiled, “cut and eat immediately.”
Chu Zihang nodded slightly: "I have no objection."
Lu Mingfei rubbed his stomach. After unleashing his full blood-boosting power, he was starving. "The principal is treating? Then I have to start eating!"
Frillie: "What is sushi?"
Caesar took her and Lu Mingfei to eat a lot of delicious food, but they hadn't tried sushi. Lu Mingfei himself mainly cooked Chinese food in the club.
"Anyway, it's delicious," Lu Mingfei patted her shoulder. "You'll be able to taste it soon."
Pushing open the wooden door, the room was filled with warm light and the faint aroma of vinegared rice.
A typical sushi restaurant with only eight seats, where the chef makes sushi right in front of the customers.
The interior is simply decorated, with a cypress bar counter polished to a mirror-like finish and several ukiyo-e style fish-catching pictures hanging on the wall.
"Mr. Angers, it's been a long time." The head chef was around eighty years old, with gray hair.
"Master Yamada, I brought a few young people with me today. Thank you for your help."
Angers first came to this shop with Lu Shanyan and Meneke. The shop was opened by Yamada's grandfather.
Chef Yamada glanced at everyone, a little puzzled when he saw Frilian's pointed ears. Did hybrids have pointed ears? But he quickly regained his professional smile: "Please sit down. Today's tuna was delivered directly from the market and is very fresh."
The group took their seats in turn. Lu Mingfei sat at the far end, next to Chu Zihang, followed by Xia Mi and Frilian, while Angers sat in the main seat.
"Would you like something to drink?" Chef Yamada asked.
"I want plum wine!" Xia Mi raised her hand.
"Sour plum juice!" Lu Mingfei blurted out.
Chu Zihang shook his head: "Water is fine."
Frillie stared at the menu, hesitated for a moment, and asked, "What is this red fish fillet?"
Chef Yamada smiled: "This is tuna belly, rich in oil, and melts in your mouth."
Angers smiled: "Let's start with today's recommendation, one set meal per person, plus some à la carte items."
The first course was chawanmushi, a delicate steamed egg custard filled with shrimp and ginkgo nuts, topped with a layer of clear broth.
Frillie poked at it gently with her spoon, looking at Lu Mingfei with a puzzled expression: "Pudding?"
"It's kind of like a savory pudding," Lu Mingfei said, scooping up a spoonful and putting it in his mouth. The eggy flavor instantly melted in his mouth. "Mmm! Delicious!"
Chu Zihang ate quietly and attentively, while Xia Mi finished her meal in two bites and eagerly awaited the next dish.
Chu Zihang wondered to himself if Fingel would eat the same way as Xia Mi when he arrived.
Next came the sashimi platter, with tuna akami, chu-bu, and dai-bu, sea bream, sweet shrimp, and surf clam, all neatly arranged on crushed ice, accompanied by freshly grated wasabi and soy sauce.
"Is this the tuna I was talking about?" Frilian picked up a piece of tuna belly with her chopsticks. The translucent flesh was a beautiful pink color, and the fat was distributed like snowflakes.
“Yes, just eat it directly, don’t dip it in too much soy sauce,” Angers advised.
Frilian put the fish slice into her mouth.
"It melted."
“I think so too!” Xia Mi chuckled. “That’s the allure of top-quality tuna! I’ve only ever seen it on TV before.”
Lu Mingfei picked up a slice, dipped it in wasabi and soy sauce, and choked on it, tears streaming down his face: "Cough! Too much wasabi!"
Frillie silently handed him a glass of plum wine.
Thanks.
Chef Yamada chuckled as he cut the fish, “Young man, use wasabi in moderation, otherwise it will overpower the fish’s natural flavor.”
Next up is the main event: sushi.
Chef Yamada took a ball of vinegared rice from the wooden bucket, moistened his fingers with water, quickly shaped it, and then took freshly cut fish from the ice box under the counter and gently attached it to the rice ball.
"The tuna is red-bodied."
One was placed in front of each person, and Lu Mingfei picked it up with his hand and swallowed it in one bite. The slight sourness of the vinegared rice and the sweetness of the fish blended perfectly, and the spiciness of the wasabi was just right.
"Tuna belly."
This time it had more fat and a smoother texture. After eating it, Frillie showed a satisfied expression, saying, "The sour and sweet flavors are perfectly combined."
"Tuna belly".
With the sushi placed in front of him, Lu Mingfei could even see the delicate marbling on the fish. He took a bite, and the aroma of the fat exploded in his mouth. The fish melted like cream, requiring almost no chewing.
"This is too unfair!" Lu Mingfei was so moved he almost cried.
He had the illusion that he had traveled into the world of "Cooking Master Boy"; Master Yamada's cooking skills were amazing.
Chu Zihang remained expressionless, but his eating speed noticeably increased.
Chef Yamada smiled and continued, "Next up are sea bream, sweet shrimp, and sea urchin rolls."
Frillie hesitated when she saw the sea urchin: "Is it alive?"
“Yes, this is gold from the sea,” Yamada explained. “Try it.”
Frillie cautiously took a bite. "Delicious. I wish Philon had this skill."
While the chef was preparing the next dish, Xia Mi rested her chin on her hand and asked, "Principal, do you come to this restaurant often?"
“Hmm,” Angers said, taking a sip of sake. “Master Yamada’s knife skills are excellent.”
"Knife skills?" Chu Zihang looked at the kitchen knife in Yamada's hand. "How's the chef's skill level?"
Chef Yamada laughed and said, "I can only cut fish, not fight."
"No matter how things change, the principle remains the same. Cutting fish and wielding a knife both require absolute control."
"This young man knows his stuff," Chef Yamada nodded approvingly. "Would you like to give it a try?"
