America: A Prodigy of Stereotypes

“It’s only one or two o’clock. I can take a nap, or just sleep in the editorial office. What do you say, Ben?” Jameson said, looking at Ben Parker.
“I slept in the newspaper office. I messaged May,” Ben Parker said.
"Now, what are you going to do?" Jameson turned to Li Qun and asked.
“Peter and I will create a trap, like a spider web, so that the next time the website is attacked, this guy will be stuck in the ‘web,’ leaving enough information for us to find him in reality.”
Li Qun explained to Jameson, while Peter looked at Li Qun with great concern.
Li Qun said that this was not the first time he had done this online, and that he could handle it all by himself.
“Should I order some more takeout for you? I think you prefer Chinese takeout to pizza,” Jameson said.
"No, let's just order pizza. Chinese takeout isn't as good as what we make ourselves. Every time I order Chinese takeout, I feel like I'm getting ripped off because I end up with something really awful," Li Qun said.
"Oh! Me too~! I absolutely can't stand anything that insults people's intelligence." Jameson laughed as he picked up his phone to order pizza delivery from the pizzeria.
While waiting for the pizza to be delivered, Jameson crossed his legs and watched Li Qun and Peter working diligently on the computer in the server room. Ben observed Jameson, who seemed quite satisfied with the two young men working so hard.
“Peter, you know, making money isn’t easy.”
The newspaper's server room was a glass room, and the room's design perfectly matched Jameson's imagination of "high technology."
“I don’t understand why you want me to work slower and why I have to… always stay serious.” Peter looked at Li Qun with a serious expression.
“We did it too fast. Jameson will think our work is too easy and unskilled, not worth the money he spent to hire us this time, and next time he will find someone else to do the work for a lower price.”
“The people who take on the job might complete it with minimal effort, and then the quality of the Horn Daily website we produce will keep getting worse and worse,” Li Qun said.
“Liqun, what you’re saying is all just your speculation,” Peter said.
“But Peter, didn’t you take it?” Li Qun smiled at Peter.
"Can this kind of work experience be applied elsewhere?" Peter asked.
"Of course you can."
“Take Spider-Man for example. He shouldn’t always be doing good deeds secretly; he should show off the good deeds he does, and ideally, leave a record of each one,” Li Qun said.
"Isn't that inappropriate?" Peter said, puzzled.
“It’s good to do good deeds and have people see it; it’s only when you do bad things that you need to do them secretly,” Li Qun said.
As midnight approached, Li Qun and Peter "finally" set up the spider web trap inside the Daily Bugle website, finishing their work two hours ahead of schedule, much to Jameson's delight. This time, Jameson patted Peter's shoulder forcefully.
The four people walked out of the Daily Bugle building, where many rooms in the surrounding buildings were also lit up.
"Are they working overtime too?" Peter asked curiously.
He thought about this question every night when he was spinning his spider webs, but Peter didn't curiously peek through the window.
If he actually went to peek, the accusations in the newspapers that Spider-Man violated privacy rights would come true, and he might even be made a scapegoat for the leak of trade secrets.
"They are working overtime, and there are always people available."
"You have to understand, this is New York, the crossroads of the world. The whole world is watching this place, and New York is watching the whole world."
Jameson lit a cigarette, trying to stay awake in the smoke. Li Qun quietly kept his distance from Jameson, refusing to be exposed to his secondhand smoke.
“Uncle Jameson, smoking is bad for your health,” Peter said to Jameson.
"Oh, that explains why you two are so far away. Get in the car, I'll finish my cigarette and then drive you back to your apartment."
Jameson took two quick puffs, which choked him. He threw the cigarette butt on the ground and stomped on it, crushing it.
Jameson's car also reeked of smoke, as if it had been pickled.
"Don't you guys smoke?" Jameson asked.
“No, neither will our friends,” Peter replied.
"You don't drink either?"
“I still drink, but I’m not dependent on alcohol,” Peter replied.
"The doctor advised me not to drink alcohol if possible, as alcohol is a Group 1 carcinogen. I don't know if they were just trying to scare me," Jameson said.
Jameson was extremely familiar with New York's traffic and drove Li Qun to her apartment building at a speed that rivaled that of a taxi driver.
“The doctor is right, you should never drink alcohol as you get older,” Li Qun said.
"You guys are only drinking because you're young, aren't you?" Jameson chuckled.
"Parking is difficult here, so let's park here."
James pulled the car over to the side of the road, and Li Qun and Peter quickly got out. Jameson then drove away quickly without stopping for a moment.
“He knew parking was prohibited here, but he didn’t know if there were any surveillance cameras.” Li Qun looked up at the surrounding high ground after getting out of the car.
“No,” Peter replied immediately.
"Let's go."
While patrolling as Spider-Man, Peter meticulously checked every street and every building for surveillance cameras.
When it comes to surveillance cameras, no amateur is more professional than Peter.
"Do you think we can safely reach the apartment door?" Li Qun asked Peter, turning to him.
"Someone's lying in wait for us?" Peter's eyes turned serious.
"They weren't waiting for us, they were just randomly robbing a passerby."
“I’ve seen the police warnings; this is a classic type of robbery, with robbers lying in wait at the entrances of various apartment buildings every few months,” Li Qun said.
"Be careful, they might have a gun," Peter warned Li Qun.
“We don’t have to go through the main gate,” Li Qun said.
"what?"
Peter paused for a moment, then was pulled by Li Qun towards the exterior wall with the fire escape stairs.
Liqun jogged close to the wall, pushed off twice, grabbed the platform of the fire escape staircase, reached out and opened the latch to lower the fire escape staircase, allowing Peter to climb the ladder to the platform.
After Peter came up, he put away the bottom straight ladder of the fire escape.
“The fire escape stairs are really noisy,” Peter said.
“This is an iron staircase, and it’s rusty, with some screws loose. Let’s pray it doesn’t fall apart,” Li Qun said.
The two climbed the fire escape stairs to their seventh-floor apartment, and when they returned, only the television was on.
Chapter 355 is truly a thrilling and exhilarating piece of reasoning and verification.
The screams echoed from the top floor of the apartment building to the ground floor, and from this block to three blocks away.
Li Qun and Peter climbed in through the window, looking rather strange, while Gwen and Stephanie were watching a horror movie on the television.
After the screams, lights came on in many rooms in nearby buildings, and people poked their heads out of the darkened windows to look around.
The neighbors had never heard such a horrific scream from a woman.
"You scared me to death!!" Gwen clutched her chest and huddled in Stephanie's arms.
“I apologize to you,” Li Qun said.
"Can you let go of me for a moment, Peter? My shoulder hurts."
As Gwen and Stephanie screamed in fright, Peter was also startled by his two disheveled roommates in white pajamas and screamed along with them, jumping onto Li Qun.
“We told you we would come back, are you guys a little cowardly?” Li Qun asked.
"How was I supposed to know you'd climb in through the window?!" Gwen was furious.
“Here’s what happened. There was a guy squatting at the entrance of the apartment building. Peter and I guessed he was a habitual robber, so we came up the stairs,” Li Qun explained.
“That guy has probably been scared away by your screams. Some neighbors should have called the police after hearing your screams,” Li Qun continued.
“You’re using the fire escape stairs, that’s good. The first platform is almost three meters high.” Gwen crossed her arms.
Gwen was referring to lengths in imperial units, but Li Qun's mind automatically converted imperial units to metric units.
"It's too easy, for someone who knows kung fu."
In fact, Li Qun could have jumped directly from his spot to reach the fire escape platform, but that would have been too unusual. He chose to pretend to be an ordinary kung fu master in front of Peter.
"What movie are you watching?" Li Qun asked.
“The Fly,” Gwen replied.
“Oh…I’ve seen it, it’s disgusting. I’m going back to my room.” Peter opened the refrigerator, took out a bottle of iced Coke, and turned to go into the bedroom.
"Flies and humans have merged; I think I've seen that before." Li Qun sat down on the empty sofa, intending to watch the Fly Man movie with the two girls.
“I thought you would be back sooner,” Stephanie said.
“To make the boss feel that the money he spent was worthwhile, Peter and I pretended to work hard,” Li Qun replied.
“You guys don’t always drag this out, do you?” Gwen asked.
"No, Peter and I will tailor our approach to the individual."
Back in his room, Peter stood quietly behind the door, focusing his attention and using his superhuman senses to listen to the conversation of the three people in the living room through the door.
After confirming that he wouldn't be disturbed, Peter quickly put on his Spider-Man suit and climbed out the window. His first goal for the night was to find the person he had noticed by the apartment door earlier.
The horrific screams did not scare away the guy lurking by the apartment door; he continued to observe from the alleyway in the distance.
Peter climbed down the wall, and the man in the brown coat didn't even notice that someone was behind him.
"Hey……"
How should Peter deal with a person who might commit a crime?
Upon hearing Peter's greeting, the man in the trench coat turned around instantly and reached into his coat.
Is it a gun?
"Are you here to rob someone?" Peter asked in a low voice.
"Spider-Man, mind your own business." The man in the trench coat recognized Spider-Man.
"You know me, that makes things much easier."
“I know. It makes things much easier for me too. If I kill you, I can collect a bounty.”
