Matthew led the three kids away from the wolf's nest and started walking towards the area where he had first found out that the animals normally can be found even in the daytime and the weird phenomenon where the daytime is an animal-free zone only applied to the location of the lake and the area near it.

He remembered that most of the animals there are all above level 10 while still below level 15 which means that there's zero percent chance that the animals would use their aura ability to suppress Matthew's venom and the hunt would just be another boring tedious task for Matthew if not for the kids following him.

His current goal was not to kill and gain levels from the level 11 or 13ish deers and boars for himself, instead, he had a plan to power level the kids.

By using his venom to greatly weaken the deers or the boars until they are laying down on the ground panting their breaths, Matthew then will tell the kids to finish them off so that they will be the ones who gained the levels from killing those animals.

'It's been so long since I've done something like this. Well, it's usually me who was carried by Derrel, but this time I will be the one who's carrying the kids.'

Matthew then remembered a few occasions where he would try his best to drag the try-hard Derrel down to lose the match and thought,

'I hope karma won't bite back at me right now. If the kids trolled me then I can only blame Derrel for cursing me a lot back then.'

Looking at the three innocent-looking kobold children, Matthew shook his head a couple of times thinking that such things would be impossible for them since getting as strong as possible is their common goal right now. And getting the kids to catch up to his level is just their first step.

'I need to do this properly.' Matthew repeatedly said in his mind.

'I don't know how this world's exp distribution system works, but I hope this works. Considering the fact that the kobolds hunt in groups and their levels have a quite balanced ratio, then I suppose this strategy should work.'

The four of them then finally arrived at the area where they could find a lot of berry bushes and Matthew had often met the deers or the boars in this area, but the four seemed to be unlucky and they didn't meet any beasts that they could hunt.

Matthew had already turned on his scanner function ever since they walked back to the lake from the bear's burrow just in case there's a sneaky snake that slipped past his eyes, but both the scanner function and his heat sensor hadn't told him that they had found anything.

His heat sensor so far hadn't contributed much since he lived in the kobold village where he didn't need to be wary about ambushes from snakes nor did he need to see through the ground or walls. And when Matthew didn't try to focus his senses on the heat sense, he wouldn't see the vague red haze silhouette from the creatures around him.

'It's fortunate that the heat sense could be toggled like that, it would be weird if every creature around me turned red in my sharp and perfect chameleon eyes.'

'But would its function deteriorate overtime if I don't use it often? I heard that muscles will get weaker the less you use them, does this also apply to a heat sensor organ? Well, I hope not since I don't want the kids to look like three short red gas-like creatures.'

From his experience traveling the forest so far, and from the information that he got from Nass and the other kobolds, Matthew now knew which direction he should go if he wanted to meet stronger animals and which direction he should go if he didn't want to meet them. Using his proven theory of the deeper you go into the forest the stronger the animals will be, Matthew avoided going in the direction of the center of the forest and also avoided going to the outskirts since the animals will be also too weak for the kids to level up.

Leading the kids to the other areas in the forest where they would probably find a group of deers or boars at around level 11 to 14, Matthew kept his eyes opened and his mouth shut and they finally meet a group of deers that were busy eating all the surrounding vegetation from the short plant that had its fruits grow at the deer's head height until the grasses that grew as tall as their ankles.

'I'm coming to save you, plants! Wait for me!' Matthew said in his heart before telling the kids to stay right where they are while Matthew did his work.

He also told the kids that he would be showing them the other ability that he got other than his weirdly long tongue and color-changing scutes, so the kids were more than happy to comply as they observed the group of deers carefully because Matthew had already disappeared from their sights right after telling them their instructions.

While carefully treading through the forest ground and avoiding all the dried twigs and dry leaves as much as he could, Matthew got closer and closer towards the group of deers who were oblivious to what was coming towards them.

Licking his claws with his tongue to coat his venom all over his claws, Matthew was thinking which one of the deers he should spare from the venom since the kids couldn't eat venomous meat.

'Fortunately, one deer is enough for the three of them and I suppose I could eat 3 deers easily in one sitting now, but that would leave 1 deer uneaten? Well, I could just carry it back and use it for the kids' breakfast tomorr-scratch it, it's venomous, I will just eat it for my own breakfast.'

After getting into a 5-meter distance from the deers, Matthew took a deep breath and got into position as his poison-coated claws were ready to scratch some deers.

Predetermining his path to be able to hit all five deers in one run, Matthew made sure that there weren't any huge stones or roots that could trip him off. And after all his preparations were done, Matthew focused his eyes and counted down from 3.

'3…2…1'

When he reached 1, he pushed his feet against the ground, and with his monkey limbs, he easily traversed the 5-meter distance, and his claws had already scratched one of the deers in the blink of an eye, injecting the deer with his venom.

But Matthew didn't waste any idle time and the moment the first deer reacted and jumped from the pain he felt on the side of his stomach, Matthew had already injected his venom into another deer.

Soon, 4 of the deers had been injected by Matthew's venom while the last one, which is the biggest of them all, had already been strangled by Matthew's tongue while he rode on top of the deer.

Seeing the strongest of them suddenly grunted in pain while jumping here and there without knowing the reason why, all the deers went into panic mode and did what they did best, which is staying alive, or frankly, running away.

Now that the four deers had run away, Matthew deactivated his aura ability and called the kids to come over.

The kids had already been observing the deers from their hiding spot without even blinking for a second, but nonetheless, they still couldn't learn anything since the invisible Matthew had injured all the deers and incapacitated their leader in only about ten seconds.

And when the kids finally arrived at the scene, he saw Matthew waving at them while sitting on top of the fallen down deer with his tongue still wrapped tight around the deer's neck.

"Huhrry andh khill ith nhow!" Matthew said.

The kids didn't have any problems with killing the animals since they had seen the other ȧduŀt kobolds doing it and they even helped to skin the deer and prepare to cook them, but one problem is that they always used their spears to kill them. And now that they didn't have anything with them except the magic staff that the first kobold kid carried, they were slightly confused about what they were supposed to do.

But seeing that the deer was about to die from being choked, Matthew quickly shouted,

"JHUST BHITE ITHS NHECK! QHUICKLY!"

The three kids hesitated for a second as they had never used their mouths other than for eating, but fortunately, the first kobold kid remembered that his goal is to get stronger and Matthew had promised them that he will show them the way. So he trusted Matthew and didn't ask any questions and bit the deer's neck as hard as he could.

Seeing the eldest brother biting the deer without hesitation, the twins soon followed after and the three of them had their mouths locked on the deer's neck. Their small yet strong mouth along with their sharp teeth easily pierce through the defenseless deer.

Still holding the deer with his hand to keep him down, Matthew released his tongue and said to the kids,

"Now you need to pull as hard as you can and tear its neck to kill it from blood loss."

With Matthew keeping the deer in check, the three kids succeeded in tearing the deer's neck apart and blood started to gush out from the deer's neck.

After a small puddle of blood had formed beside the deer, Matthew felt the deer had already given him no resistance and its body had gone completely limp. But he didn't get any notification from the system telling him that he had killed a deer.

'Which means that it counted that the kids were the ones who had killed the deer. I guess this means the power-leveling strategy should work just fine.'

Matthew then got himself off the deer and shook off the blood that had gotten into his scales.

"Brother Matthew, what about the other deers? Did you purposely let them get away?"

"Well no, why should I? I told you kids before that I got another ability right? It's already about 1 minute and with their bodies constantly moving, I guess it has already shown its effect. Let's go and chase the deers now."

While the four of them were leisurely walking towards the direction of the deers, Matthew suddenly remembered that his venom is now a combination of the snake's and the spider's venom and their effects exponentially increased when combined, which means-

"NO, WAIT, DON'T DIE YET!" He suddenly shouted and started urging the kids to run instead of walk.

When they had run about 150 meters forward, they finally found the deers. However, the kids, especially the first kobold kid who knows well about the characteristics of the deer, were bewildered when they saw four deers were down on the ground, panting hard with their tongues out and their bodies limp.

The first kobold kid turned to look at Matthew, but Matthew didn't seem to be calm as he quickly shouted towards him and the twins,

"QUICK! NECK! BITE THEM!"

"AND DON'T DRINK OR EAT ANY OF THEIR MEAT OR BLOOD!"
