Chapter 17.2 : Shock

A Snow Wolf that she had seen before, those amber coloured eyes that she knew. [Isn’t this the Snow Wolf that she saved back on the deserted island?]

It was little wonder that she had felt that there was something strange about that Snow Wolf. So it’s actually human. If she had not seen it with her own eyes she would never be able to believe that the magnificent looking Snow Wolf before her eyes was in fact Xuanyuan Mo.

Xuanyuan Mo looked at Duanmu Xi’s stunned look, and his eyes dimmed.

His looks must have scared her. It’s to be expected. Which sane person would be able to accept him like this? He had been too greedy and was asking too much.

Seeing the endless hurt shining out through those amber eyes, Duanmu Xi’s heart winced up in pain. She, who had not let her emotions get the better of her in the past eighteen years, it was feared…..

Duanmu Xi knelt down right before Xuanyuan Mo, and lightly kissed those sad and sorrowful eyes.

“Do not look at me with those kind of eyes. I don’t like it.”

Duanmu Xi stroked his snow white fur gently. “It’s so pristine and pure. The name Mo does not suit you at all. Shall we just call you Ah Xue, or rather Snowy in future?” (Short Note: Mo means ink, Xue means snow)

Xuanyuan Mo looked at the serious faced Duanmu Xi and knew that she did not despise him. His heart sunk into absolute joy and he was unable to extricate himself. He then stuck his tongue out and licked her on her tiny face.

Duanmu Xi blushed slightly and feeling his joy, she stretched her hand out and patted his large furry head.

“Let’s go now, or it will really be too late.”

The two of them had just walked out of the cave when they encountered the assassins. Without a word, the black robed men immediately attacked.

The target the assassins sought was clear. They focused their attacks on Xuanyuan Mo

Under the black robed men’s simultaneous attacks, Xuanyuan Mo was soon wounded and bleeding.

“Lan Ze.”

Duanmu Xi immediately summoned Lan Ze when she saw that.

“Mistress.”

“Protect Snowy.”

His orders received, Lan Ze immediately leapt over to Xuanyuan Mo’s side in a few bounds.

Duanmu Xi executed her Swift Wind Steps and quickly reached Xuanyuan Mo’s side.

Seeing the glaring red wound on Xuanyuan Mo’s leg, Duanmu Xi’s eyes turned chilly.
