Warhammer: Return of the Dragon.

Chapter 1153 Reward Order

Along with the White Wolf Knight and Priest Yurik came Enil's Woodland Guards.

Imrik temporarily threw Anil aside. What he was most concerned about now was whether there was a warlord possessed by Bilak, not Anil crying here.

The White Wolf Knight is tall, with unkempt long hair and beard that makes him look very rough. The plate armor made of fine steel is obviously made by a dwarf master. The skull crusher in his hand can easily smash the head of a big orc.

Priest Yurik's attire...is almost the same as that of the White Wolf Knight, except that he wears a white wolf head hat that symbolizes the blessing of the gods.

Compared to Sigma Priest's occasional verbal debate, Yurik Priest was better at physical debate with his skull crusher, smashing the opponent's head into pieces, and all disputes disappeared...

The knight nodded and greeted the Phoenix King, introducing himself first.

"Phoenix King, I am Ackerman Uxer, an inner circle knight of the White Wolf Knights, and a knight vassal of the Elector of Nordland."

Generally speaking, those who can become an inner circle knight will at least get a title of nobility, rather than an honorary title like knight.

But the situation in Nordland is somewhat special. Although the Gowther family is an elector, their title is still a baron.

The full name of Nordland is the Grand Barony of Nord, not the Grand Duke of Middenland.

Of course, the empire's title system is somewhat confusing. The one who truly stands at the pinnacle of status is the Elector, and most of the others are just declared titles referring to a region.

For example, the Duke of Kronborg, in terms of title, is second only to Midden and Rick, but in reality, the Duke of Kronborg is merely the ruler of a castle and nearby territories, rather than a huge political force like the two electors.

The only kingdom with a truly strict feudal hierarchy is Bretonnia. A duke is a duke, the actual ruler of a duchy, and it is by no means a title claim of a castle.

Imrick glanced at the White Wolf Knight a few times and felt that his strength was acceptable and he was considered a good fighter among humans.

"Why didn't you participate in the selection of the Teutonic Guard? With your strength, you should be able to serve as a warrior guarding the sacred flame."

I didn't expect the Phoenix King to ask such a sensitive topic, but the White Wolf Knight was not a fussy person. "Of course I joined, but there are many people in the Knights who are stronger than me. The Teutonic Guard is not only for the White Wolf Knights. Anyone who is devoutly devoted to the White Wolf God can get the honor of guarding the Holy Fire."

After chatting for a while, Imrick brought out the topic in the tent: "I am looking for a Chaos warlord. I don't know his name, characteristics, or abilities... but I must find him."

The three didn't know, which confused the White Wolf Knight and Priest Ulric. Is there anyone looking for someone like you? I can just find a Chaos Warlord and see if I can meet your requirements.

Ackerman spread his hands and said, "Your Majesty, the White Wolf Knights are willing to serve you. Ulric has said many times that the dragon and the white wolf are an unbreakable alliance... But your words are too vague. The definition of a Norse warlord is very vague. The leader of a tribe of 100 people can be called a warlord, and the leader of a warband of 10,000 people can also be called a warlord."

"I don't care what the Norse barbarians define as a warlord... I went to the Church of Ulric only to ask you to explain one thing to the military organizations within the empire on my behalf."

"Find this warlord favored by the dark gods. I don't ask you to bring his head to me, just find his trace and let me confirm that he is the one I am looking for. As the Phoenix King, I will offer a promise to the organization or individual who finds him, a promise that is permanent and valid."

"Promise..." Ackerman was shocked. If what he said was true, the promise of the Phoenix King was worth more than a thousand pieces of gold.

The promise he made to Magnus had made Caledor help the Empire for a hundred years, and even after the death of the Pious, the two countries still maintained the beautiful honeymoon period after the end of the Great Crusade.

Anyone with a discerning eye could see that the Empire had benefited more from its contact with Ulthuan. The technology and craftsmanship from the Elves had fully made up for the technological gaps that the Dwarves were unwilling to share. Controlled magic had allowed many things that were once considered miracles to occur.

And all this is thanks to the Phoenix King in front of him.

Imrick nodded and repeated firmly: "Yes, a promise. Even if this lucky guy wants to be the emperor of the empire, I will do my best to help him deal with the Electoral Council."

"Find this warlord. This is my requirement for the empire and a test of your abilities."

Along with the White Wolf Knights left was an edict from the Phoenix King of Nordland. With the operation of the Church of Ulric, all the major knightly orders learned of this.

If it was Finubar who made a promise, most people probably wouldn't think that the Phoenix King of the Elf could be of much help to the empire, but Imrik was the exact opposite.

The hero who turned the tide of the Great Crusade, the slayer who ended the Third Vampire War, the monarch who drove the greenskins of the badlands into the dark land, everything about him filled him with sacred and unquestionable authority.

Compared to Emperor Dite IV who relied on his status to make money, the Phoenix King's decrees were actually more effective in the empire.

Great Ulric called on his followers to eliminate the Chaos elements that invaded the empire and to meet the requirements of the Phoenix King. After all, everyone understood that finding a warlord was not difficult, but due to the face and political interests of the various electors, they were unable to send large-scale military support.

High Priest Sigmar was not to be outdone. After openly and secretly despising the ineffective Emperor Dieter IV, the bald man called on those who believed in the double-tailed comet to take up arms and kill all the Norse barbarians who entered the empire.

It doesn’t matter whether they are warlords or not, just kill them all.

Except for the Church of Poseidon in West Territory which still had some doubts about this and its subordinate Trident Knights did not go out, the White Wolf, Blood of Sigmar, Cheetah, Yangyan, Moore, Stubborn Bull... all the top knights in the empire responded to this war which had changed its nature.

A bounty order gradually turned the fight against Chaos into a confrontation between two churches, which caused Midden and Rick to complain about it.

There is no reason for this promise to fall into the hands of others. As the two largest forces in the empire, they can refuse this promise, but it does not mean that Imrik can ignore what he said.

The electors thought that they should kill this warlord, take this opportunity to improve relations with the elves, and gain an advantage in the next elector meeting.

Suddenly, the Empire was in turmoil because of this promised bounty. It seemed that wealth, power, honor... could all be found here. For the people of the Empire who were seeking to climb up, was there a better opportunity than this? (End of this chapter)
