Chapter 1154 "Bilak"
Bilak... the Lord of Shadows has returned to this world at some point.
He had no memory of the Great Crusade, and although he crowned Esava Kul himself, the Kurgans' ambitions were beyond the Lord of Shadows' imagination.
Besides, the Lord of Shadows did not believe that the Kurgans could achieve their goal of destroying the world. The fact that the grassland tribes could cross the Bridge of Praag was already a great victory for Chaos.
A proper Chaos invasion can make mortals fear the Dark Gods, destroy their weak gods and beliefs, destroy farmland and villages, slaughter all rebellious lambs, and lead all people into the Chaos Realm.
This is the duty that will never be chosen.
Bilak, who possessed the body of a Chaos warlord, easily slashed through the flesh of the White Wolf Knight in front of him with his shadow sword. The dwarf master's sturdy armor could not save his life. The warrior who devoutly believed in Ulric had his soul taken away by the shadow.
The dark-skinned warlord ordered his men to begin sweeping through the village, killing anyone who could resist.
He looked down at the woman curled up on the ground, and an inexplicable impulse arose in his heart.
After losing his body, he had completely abandoned physical desires, and his only goal in this life was to become one of the dark gods. But this time, he actually had an impulse.
The impulse came suddenly and violently, but was also extremely long-lasting.
The warlord possessed by Bilak grabbed the woman by the throat and licked the skin which was incredibly delicate for a peasant woman with his tongue.
"How interesting...woman, you have managed to get my attention."
With endless desire, Bilak brought the imperial woman to a wooden house.
He would regret this decision for the rest of his life, as the Chaos Gods once again fooled the disrespectful, allowing Be'lakor to be crowned the Everchosen for the sin he had created, and to witness Archaon bring destruction to the entire mortal world.
Three hours later, after finishing his work, Bilak felt a soreness in his body. As soon as he walked out of the wooden house, he saw the controlled Norse warriors rushing towards him.
"Warlord, several groups of Imperial cavalry are heading towards our position."
"Imperial Cavalry?" Bilak's ferocious smile showed that he was very happy to see the visitors. If he wasn't satisfied enough, he would just kill them again. It was that simple.
However, the situation was somewhat different from what was expected. After Bilak relied on his supreme divine power to eliminate the returning cavalry squads, he was walking towards the inland of the empire and was surprised to find that thousands of elite knights had already turned their spearheads against this Norse warband.
"This is impossible..." Bilak thought to himself. He possessed only a medium-sized warband warlord. The ones that could attract the attention of the empire should be the large warbands.
Although he was surprised, Bilak would not be merciful. Even if the warlord died, it would have no effect on the Lord of Shadows.
After killing hundreds of elite knights of the Empire, Bilak finally met an opponent.
An extremely strange, yet seemingly extremely familiar elf.
Imrik stood alone in front of the Chaos warband, with his hand on the Sword of Creation. The Phoenix King, who had changed his crown into the Armor of Caledor, had transformed from a useless person into a brave warrior again.
The elf spoke calmly, his eyes full of amusement and observation. "Bilak...how do you feel about meeting me?"
"You are..." Bilak was not panicked when his identity was revealed. The Lord of Shadows could clearly feel the strong aura of Asuryan on the visitor, which was no less than that of Aenarion in ancient times.
The Elven God has power that rivals the Dark Gods, and his Chosen One is no less powerful than the Chief Demon.
"The Phoenix King today."
Imrick nodded thoughtfully. The Chaos Realm lacked the concept of time, which made many things impossible to speculate using common sense.
Perhaps this Bilak was an illusion created by the Chaos Gods with their supreme power in order to fulfill their destiny of destroying the world...
But it is also possible that Bilak in the Great Crusade was an illusion. After all, apart from the explosion that caused Praag to collapse, there was no trace of the Lord of Shadows.
"I have heard of your name for a long time. You are the first mortal to offer his soul to the dark gods, Be'lakor, the Lord of Shadows. I am Imrik, the eleventh Phoenix King... On the battlefield, I prefer to be called the Dragon Lord."
Imrik slowly drew out the Sword of Creation, and in the afterglow of the Holy Fire of Asuryan, the consciousness of Bilak hidden in the warlord's body clearly emerged into the world.
It was an unidentifiable shadow, and no one knew the true nature of the Lord of Shadows. He had distorted so many things that even by the standards of demons, Bilak was a monster.
"Dragon Lord?" Bilak sneered, his disembodied voice echoing in the Chaos warlord's throat with an unpredictable reverberation.
"When will the dragon lord of Caledor be willing to set foot on the territory of the Imperials and fight for the barbaric and backward monkeys?"
Imrick did not respond, the Sword of Creation in his hand shone with a dazzling white light in the dim air.
That was enough power to fight against the Dark Gods. He walked forward slowly, his tone calm: "How pathetic, a pawn regarded as a toy by the Dark Gods. From the day you pledged your loyalty to Chaos, your soul will never belong to you again."
Imrik's words hit Be'lak's heart like a hammer, causing his unrecognizable shadow body to tremble. He called himself the Lord of Shadows, but in the eyes of the Dark Gods, he was just a tool, a pawn serving Chaos.
"Chess piece?" Be'lak's voice revealed a hint of self-mockery. "Perhaps, but even if I am a chess piece, I have my own choices and paths. And you, Dragon Lord, who are you fighting for? For your fragile fellow elves, or for those mortals who believe in Sigmar?"
Imrik's steps slowed down, and he could not help but let out a thunderous laugh. "A demon questions why I fight? This world is becoming more and more absurd. There is no excuse, no reason. My duty is to kill you and ensure the continuation of the Elven Empire.
No amount of hypocrisy or high-sounding rhetoric can explain this decision, for this is how I feel about the Chaos Gods."
Bilak was still thinking of using his past verbal offensive to break down the Phoenix King's inner barriers, but Imrik was not a man who liked to talk nonsense, especially when it came to demons. If he could use a knife, he would never use his mouth.
A dragon's breath often arrives before a greeting.
The light of the Sword of Creation burned everything around it. All the Norse mortals favored by Be'lakor covered their eyes and paid a heavy price for looking directly at the power of the gods.
After seeing the power of Asuryan displayed by the Sword of Creation, Bilak knew that the situation was not good and fled. (End of this chapter)
