Marvel: Wonka's Chocolate Factory
Chapter 35 Chocolate, the nemesis of chocolate!
Willy Wonka hadn't expected Alex to suddenly faint, but he discovered that Alex wasn't in any life-threatening danger; he was just weak and exhausted.
Willy Wonka suddenly felt a strong sense of déjà vu about this situation!
He once ate a chocolate fruit and accidentally fell into the sea during a training session, and that's how he ended up like this.
From a formidable powerhouse to a limp, lifeless creature, all after just a short soak in the seawater. His own situation was so similar to Alex's!
But this is the least likely scenario. Willy Wonka himself isn't afraid of the seawater in the Marvel universe, yet Alex is experiencing a similar situation.
"Frank, take Alex to the hospital and have the doctor give him a full check-up."
The Totland Group operates its own private hospital that serves its senior executives and employees, so sending Alex to this hospital would not raise any concerns about leaks of confidential information.
……
When Alex finally woke up, it was already the next day.
He wearily opened his eyes, stared blankly at the unfamiliar ceiling for a few seconds, and then the pungent smell of disinfectant in the air made him forcefully turn on the machine.
Alex remembered that he should be in the hospital right now. Last night, in front of Mr. Willy Wonka, he suddenly felt weak all over and his vision went black, causing him to faint.
Thinking about this, Alex felt quite uneasy. Would he have created a very negative impression on his boss? Would Mr. Willy Wonka be disappointed in him because of this?
Alex now feels perfectly fine in his body, with inexhaustible strength! And he could transform into the pterosaur he was last night at any time.
He pulled off the strange tubes stuck to his body, then sat up. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw a file folder on the bedside table, with a key lying quietly next to it.
"Oh, thank goodness!"
Alex breathed a sigh of relief. This was a luxury apartment in Manhattan, New York, worth $500 million!
Moreover, the fact that the item is still there shows that Mr. Willy Wonka has not been disappointed in himself.
Alex's awakening quickly alerted the nurses, and Willy Wonka and Frank rushed over.
They stayed in the VIP room on the top floor of the hospital the night before last, and did not leave because they were afraid that something might happen to Alex.
Upon learning that Alex was perfectly healthy and had woken up full of energy, Willy Wonka and Frank were no longer so anxious.
"Alex, how are you feeling now?"
Willy Wonka, carrying a box, asked in a friendly manner.
Alex immediately got up from the hospital bed, his rosy cheeks looking very healthy. "Mr. Willy Wonka, I'm fine now. I personally suspect it's because last night's battle exhausted my body."
Frank nodded; he agreed. Transforming into a pterosaur, taking a punch himself, and the rapid healing of his wounds—this entire process must have consumed a huge amount of energy. Overexertion was to be expected!
Judging from the rosy cheeks of Alex, he doesn't look like he's overworked. Is he recovering so quickly?
Frank made a mental note of it, intending to check later to see if the doctor had administered any additional medication to Alex.
Willy Wonka brought Alex a box of chocolates he had made himself, while Frank brought flowers and fruit.
Alex was their subordinate and also a patient. Since they were visiting a patient, they should bring something; they couldn't come empty-handed.
"Thank you, Mr. Willy Wonka, thank you, Mr. Frank. I'm all better now and can go back to work today."
Alex carefully took the food box and fruit basket, then immediately indicated that he could return to his post.
His current enthusiasm for serving the group is definitely not because of his million-dollar base salary and the luxury apartment in Manhattan.
Frank looked at Alex and thought he was as excited as a young man today; it seemed that money really could make people younger.
He picked an apple from the fruit basket, then took a peeler and peeled it for Alex himself.
Frank, at his age and in his position, no longer needs to worry too much about his demeanor. Especially since Mr. Willy Wonka has clearly wanted to win people over, as his butler, he should cooperate with Willy Wonka.
Moreover, Alex is a clever and shrewd person; peeling an apple is nothing to him.
To show his respect for Mr. Willy Wonka, Alex also opened his lunchbox, and a sweet aroma wafted out.
The words of praise he had prepared suddenly stopped, and Alex felt that no amount of praise could do justice to the delicious food in front of him.
"These are some chocolates I made before. They're new products that haven't been released yet. I brought some over for you to try."
"Alex, Frank hasn't even tasted this chocolate yet. You're the second person to try it besides me."
Alex was flattered and felt as if he were walking on cotton; it was almost unbelievable.
Willy Wonka makes chocolates by hand, while Frank peels an apple for him.
Alex felt that he would probably have to sell his life to Tottoland from now on, and of course, he was willing to do so!
The box contains pink chocolates, each one capable of stimulating one's most primal appetite. The cookie crumbs on top, in particular, blend perfectly with the chocolate's flavor, further enhancing the desire to eat.
Alex picked up a piece and put it in his mouth; it was a rather complex fruity chocolate.
It looked like he was chewing strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries in his mouth!
But the chocolate was so hard that after a couple of bites, he couldn't chew it anymore.
Huh? Alex was puzzled. Why was the floor rising?
Willy Wonka's lips twitched slightly in exasperation; he had a rough idea of Alex's situation.
Frank had already placed the half-peeled apple on the table, then picked up Alex, who had fallen to the floor, and carried him back to bed.
"Frank, pry the chocolate out of Alex's mouth."
Frank immediately pinched Alex's mouth shut and then used a spoon to scoop out the chocolate that Alex had only chewed a couple of times and hadn't yet swallowed.
"Mr. Willy Wonka, this..."
Willy Wonka already had a guess in mind, but he wasn't entirely sure yet and needed to conduct another small experiment.
"Frank, let's do another experiment this afternoon. The same requirements apply: find someone we can trust."
Willy Wonka has now basically determined that it was his chocolate that caused Alex to become exhausted, weak, and even unconscious.
Is this situation caused by the chocolate fruit already having grown and borne fruit, in order to maintain its advantage and suppress the fruit it produces?
Willy Wonka recalled that he was once at sea, and even though the Chocolate Fruit had awakened, he could not go into the sea.
Looking back now, the curse of the sea may have been the original fruit, created to maintain its suppression over all subsequent fruits.
The Chocolate Fruit was able to grow normally because it came to the Marvel universe and, by chance, became the only Devil Fruit in this universe.
Willy Wonka silently wondered if each universe could only have one tree that blossomed and bore fruit, and if the first tree would suppress all subsequent fruits.
