After changing their clothes, Norn led Arno around the streets of Motu Village, looking for a place to stay.

There are a lot of hotels here, but most of them are low-end shops with narrow storefronts and crooked signs.

Some of the entrances were occupied by scantily clad pimps who flirted with every passerby, clearly indicating that their services went beyond simply providing accommodation.

Before, when I was short of money, I could condescend to stay in a nicer place; now that I have money in my pocket, I can afford to stay in a better place.

After searching for a while, Norn finally spotted a stone building at the end of a relatively clean alley.

The building is constructed entirely of various types of rock, with two carved stone pillars standing at the entrance and a wooden sign hanging above the door that reads "Home of Adventurers." The environment looks quite nice.

Norn pushed open the heavy wooden door and went inside.

The reception area is a long L-shaped counter with a single piece of walnut wood, polished to a perfect smooth finish.

Behind the counter stood an elderly cat-woman, somewhat plump, but dressed in a well-fitting dark blue dress, her hair neatly pinned up at the back of her head.

"Looking for a room?" the person in front asked.

Norn nodded. "How much for a room, a big one?"

"I'll charge you 30 sea lions a night, silver coins are also acceptable."

"Okay, we'll stay here." Norn said, taking out a gold coin. "Keep the change. Ask me for more if you need more."

The woman took the gold coins and put them in her pocket, her attitude becoming more enthusiastic. As she handed the room key to Norn, she called out to the waiter in the lobby:

"Todd! Take these two gentlemen upstairs!"

The kobold who was cleaning in the corner quickly put down his broom and ran over to lead Norn the way.

Pushing open the door, a room of about forty square meters came into view, with very nice decor.

The floor was covered with a thick, dark brown carpet, and against the wall stood a huge oak bed. Opposite the bed was a wooden table and a cabinet, all of which were new, waxed furniture.

But the most eye-catching feature is the bathtub in the corner of the room.

It was a square pool embedded in the ground, made of bluish-gray stone bricks. The four corners of the pool were rounded so that they wouldn't hurt your feet when you stepped on them.

"You can even take a bath here?" Norn asked the kobold.

"Of course, sir." The kobold's face showed a proud expression. "If you need water, I can fetch it for you, one sea scale per fetch; if you want hot water, you'll need to add twenty earth scales; and if you want spices, one sea scale per fetch."

After listening, Norn asked, "Do you accept human currency?"

The kobold nodded. "Yes, sir."

Norn pulled a gold coin from his pocket and handed it to the kobold. "Hot water and spices, please."

"Wait a moment, I'll go get your change."

A short while later, he and another waiter came in carrying water and handed Norn the change.

The two ran back and forth four or five times before finally filling the pool.

Then two waiters entered carrying fire tongs, with a bright red round stone clamped between them.

"Be careful, sir, this stone is very hot."

The two carefully placed the round stone into the pool.

The moment the stone entered the water, it made a soft "hissing" sound, a ring of bubbles rose from the bottom, the pool water began to churn gently, and white steam rose from the surface, spreading throughout the room.

After placing both stones in, the kobold took out a small bag from his pocket, untied the rope, and poured its contents into the pool.

It consisted of dried plant fragments and powders, including rosemary, lavender, and mint, which quickly released their fragrance after being sprinkled into the pool water.

"Sir, the water is ready. Please enjoy." The kobold bowed, then left with another waiter, closing the door behind him.

Norn couldn’t wait to take off his new clothes, throw them on the bed, and walk barefoot to the bathtub.

He first tested the water temperature with his toes before immersing himself in the pool.

The warm pool water reached over my shoulders, gradually washing away the fatigue from days of travel.

Norn leaned against the pool wall, his head resting on the smooth edge of a pebble, his eyes closed, and let out a long breath.

The aroma of spices rose with the steam, filling the entire room with a wonderful fragrance. Norn felt as if he were surrounded by a sea of flowers, completely relaxing and letting all the fatigue of the past few days vanish in that moment.

"So comfortable..." Norn murmured to himself.

Arno squatted by the pool, staring curiously at the hot water inside.

"Don't rush, this pool is too small. I'll let you wash after I'm done soaking," Norn said.

Arno nodded, removed the ghost mask, reached into the water, scooped up some water, and gulped it down.

Norn frowned and gently patted Arno's head. "Don't drink it, it's bathwater."

After hearing this, Arno had no choice but to move his mouth away from the edge of the pool, but his eyes were still fixed on the water, and he would lick his lips from time to time, looking as if he was still not satisfied.

Norn ignored it and leaned back against the pool wall, continuing to enjoy this rare moment of tranquility.

He washed for more than ten minutes, until the skin on his fingers began to wrinkle and the water temperature slowly cooled down, before reluctantly standing up from the pool.

"It's your turn," Norn said to Arno, and began to help Arno take off his clothes.

Arno jumped naked into the pool, and the water level instantly rose by half.

Arno's massive body filled the entire bathtub, forcing it to curl up with its legs bent and hands wrapped around its knees, barely managing to submerge its lower body in the water.

"Just make do with this." Norn picked up the wooden-handled brush from the shelf, squatted down by the pool, and helped Arno wash his body.

His grayish-black skin was covered in mud and unidentified grime. With a brush, his entire back was instantly clearly defined, and black muddy water flowed down Arno's back into the water.

The pool water changed color without anyone noticing.

The once crystal-clear hot water has now turned into a murky grayish-black color, with a layer of fine dirt and grease floating on the surface.

But the changes in Arnold are also visible to the naked eye.

The gray-black skin hidden beneath the grime, after being washed, revealed a hint of dark brown luster, and the white cracks became clearer and more distinct, like white lines carefully drawn on a black canvas.

Norn spent a full twenty minutes refreshing Arno's body, covering every part of it he could reach.

"Alright, that's about enough." Norn put the slightly fuzzy brush away.

Arno looked down at his body, then at the murky bathwater, and then plunged his head into the water and began to gulp it down.

"Oh, whatever you want."

Norn's wet body had almost dried off, and he collapsed onto the bed without even putting on his clothes, his thoughts wandering freely at that moment.

Money really doesn't last long.

He spent most of the 56 gold coins he just earned today. Although he could take on all the A and B level missions at once, doing so would definitely provoke public outrage.

In fact, having taken on three A-level missions at once, I suspect some people are already holding a grudge against me.

In the future, I should be more restrained and try to do tasks that have been sitting unattended on the bulletin board for a long time.

"Fortunately, he still made quite a bit of money. Although Arno eats a lot, he is indeed a good helper. Once he has saved enough money after working for a while, he can retire."

"To own my own estate and live comfortably as a lord..."

As I thought about it, drowsiness gradually crept in.

Norn's eyelids grew heavier and heavier, his consciousness began to blur, and he fell into a deep sleep.

I don't know how much time passed.

A scream jolted Norn awake from his dream.

He suddenly opened his eyes, his body instinctively sprang up from the bed, and looked around.

Arno stood by the bed, holding a person's head high in the air with his right hand.

The man's screams grew louder, and it looked like his head was about to explode, but Norn stopped him in time.
