Organ rental company in another world
14. Riot is imminent
The sun is shining brightly, the air is fresh, and it's another lovely morning.
Pinas, the guild leader of the Rotten River Town branch of the Adventurers' Guild, was enjoying his Golden Jade Wine while relaxing in a deck chair after finishing his breakfast.
In two years, he will be able to retire, and the guild will give him a large pension, enough for him to return to the village and live out the rest of his life in peace.
Thinking of the bright future, Pinas couldn't help but hum softly. He brought his glass to his lips, about to drink, when the office door was kicked open.
Pinas was startled and spilled the drink all over himself.
"Didn't your mother teach you to knock?! If this happens again, you'll..."
"It's terrible, Guild Master! The crystal ball at the dungeon entrance has turned red!"
The newcomer was a soldier guarding the entrance to the underground city, and his words immediately shut Pinas up.
Pinas's anger vanished, replaced by an expression of disbelief: "You didn't see that wrong, did you? How could something like this be possible?"
"It's absolutely true! The others on duty with me saw it too!"
Pinas gasped, his mind momentarily blank, before finally issuing the order:
"Immediately seal off the dungeon entrance and prevent anyone from entering!"
Gather all soldiers and have them mount their horses and rush into the dungeon to warn all adventurers inside: the Abyss Riot is coming!
"Yes, sir!" The soldier left immediately.
Pinas paced back and forth in his office in a panic, muttering words like "bad luck" and "damn it."
There were only two years left, and I could retire in just two more years, but then a big problem suddenly came up!
If this isn't handled properly, not only will I be dismissed, but I might even lose my life...
But there was no time for him to complain now; he had to quickly organize defensive measures and recruitment.

On the first floor of the Decaying River underground city, several fast riders passed through various outposts, relaying Pinas's orders.
The garrison sent out even more cavalry to spread the word, and the sound of horses' hooves echoed across the first floor.
"Attention all adventurers! Attention all adventurers! An abyssal riot is imminent! Everyone, immediately cease your missions and return to the surface!"
The cavalrymen shouted at the top of their lungs, while those with magic used amplification spells to announce the news.
Hearing the noise, a group of adventurers eating in the forest asked the most experienced elder elf in their party, "What is an abyssal riot?"
The old elf remained calm, took a sip of broth, and slowly said, "Do you know how the dungeons came about?"
"I've heard of it; it seems to have been transformed from the corpse of a demon god," one adventurer replied.
The old elf nodded. "In the past, the Holy Emperor Yarrow Bimissa killed several demon gods who were wreaking havoc on the human world, and their corpses transformed into dungeons. These monsters are the remnants of those demon gods."
"The will of the demon gods makes them want to rush onto the land at all times, while the remaining power of the Holy Emperor is also restraining them from going up."
The so-called Abyss Riot was caused by the sudden disappearance of the Holy Emperor's influence; without any obstacles, the demons surged forward all at once.
"Isn't that very dangerous?! Let's run away quickly!" One of the team members got up and started packing his things.
The old elf looked at this junior and shook his head helplessly:
"If you want to run, then run! This is a great opportunity to make money!"
"In order to defend against monsters, the guild will hire adventurers at high prices. Afterwards, there will be corpses all over the ground, and we can still pick up a lot of good equipment."
"If a real fight breaks out, we'll be fine as long as we back away."
Upon hearing this, everyone beamed with joy.
"Let's go, let's register now!" The old elf said, finishing the last bit of soup and getting up.

"How come we can't cut off all these tentacles?!"
Austin wielded the Dragonblood Sword, severing the slippery tentacles one by one, the inscriptions on the sword flashing with each strike.
Karentin didn't have the same strength as Austin; he could only barely repel the tentacles, but he couldn't sever them.
These tentacles stretched endlessly from the depths of the cave, impossible to cut off or eradicate, and Karentin instantly lost the will to fight.
"Austin, let's run! These tentacles are relentless. If we stay here, we'll be a pair of star-crossed lovers."
Austin also lost interest in the endless mechanical slashing, and a blazing red magic circle appeared in her left hand.
"Blazing Sun"!
A large fireball slowly materialized in front of the magic circle, blocking the entire entrance to the cave.
"Walk!"
Austin sheathed her sword and ran outside.
After being scalded by the fireball several times, the tentacles gathered together and, with a burst of energy, broke through the fireball and relentlessly pursued the two.
As soon as they escaped from the cave, a tidal wave of tentacles burst through the entrance and filed out!
Karentin couldn't dodge in time, and his right foot was entangled by tentacles and lifted into the air.
Upon seeing this, Austin fiercely drew her sword, leaped into the air on her tentacles, and saved her with a spinning slash.
At this moment, the main bodies of those tentacles squeezed out of the cave:
A giant octopus covered in human faces.
Its soft body squeezed out of the narrow opening, like a large blob of purple slime.
The endless tentacles were merely the downy branches of one of its large tentacles.
"A terrifying octopus!" Karentin blurted out.
This monster crawled out of the Howling Sea on the seventh level. How could it be here?!
No matter how warlike Austin was, he knew he was powerless against such a towering monster.
"Don't just stand there! Run!" Austin pulled Karentin up and turned to run away, only to find that the retreat route was crowded with all kinds of monsters.
They moved in one direction as if migrating, and although they did not attack them, anyone who dared to rush in would surely be reduced to ashes.
"Am I dreaming...?" Karentin muttered as if in a dream. He had been an adventurer for half his life and had never seen anything like this before.
"Hide in that cave!"
Austin pointed to a cave and shouted. Without thinking twice, the two of them ran towards it with all their might.
The grotesque octopus's hairy tentacles relentlessly pursued them, following them into the cave.
As they dealt with the tentacles behind them, the two ran deeper into the cave.
"Stop! Stop it now!!"
Karentin practically screamed it out; the scene before him nearly caused his heart to stop.
"What are you doing! More and more tentacles are reaching out from behind! Run!"
"There's something ahead..."
Karentin was on the verge of a mental breakdown. Monsters that looked so human were rare in the dungeon, and he could recognize what the figure in front of him was at a glance.
Barnabas...
A synonym for terror and power.
Countless adventurer teams have joined forces to hunt it over the decades, but without exception, they all perished.
Karentin threw down his sword, laughing maniacally as he sat on the ground: "Heaven wants me dead, hahahahaha!!!"
"What the hell are you doing?!"
Austin used her last bit of magic to unleash a pillar of fire that burned away all the tentacles in the passage, but more tentacles would soon follow.
She wanted to take this opportunity to give Karentin a piece of her mind.
As soon as they turned their heads, they saw a person dressed entirely in black carrying another person and walking towards them.
