Chapter 102 Doctor Fate forces Nightmare Batman to retreat

The N-metal arrow pierced Robin King's chest, causing a violent explosion.

A burst of eerie blue light exploded, like a blooming epiphyllum flower, cracking the ground within several meters around it. Debris and dust were swept up by the shockwave and scattered in all directions.

The blinding light caused the Laughing Bat and Su Mo, who were fighting, to stop at the same time and turn to look in Damian's direction.

"This script is wrong, isn't it?!" The host in the stands stopped explaining in surprise.

Bane let out a sinister laugh, leaning forward and gripping the railing with his hands, his knuckles turning white: "The battle is over. Looks like it's my turn to deal with you now, you little bat brat."

"Oh, the battle has only just begun, Bane." The Batman Who Laughs disappointedly shifted his gaze from King Robin, his grin dissipating, and his eyes slowly fell on Su Mo and Mr. Zhuoyue. His voice was deep, his pace neither hurried nor slow, "Please come closer, Mr. Zhuoyue, Mr. Su, I will demonstrate the power of these cards to you..."

As soon as he finished speaking, a beam of golden light appeared between Su Mo and the Laughing Bat.

The portal opened with a roar, and the figures of six Nightmare Batmen emerged from the light, lined up in a row, exuding an imposing aura.

The clanging of armor against armor and the hum of magic mingled together, making the air tremble.

The killing machine in the middle was holding Cyborg from the Justice League in its arms. Sparks were flying and electric arcs were crackling on Cyborg's mechanical body. It seemed to have lost consciousness.

Su Mo frowned slightly, glancing out of the corner of her eye at the metal card in Mr. Zhuoyue's hand. Wasn't this card still in Mr. Zhuoyue's possession? How come the Laughing Bat used it? Wasn't it sealed away by Mr. Zhuoyue's little ball?

"My God! Look at them! They're all Batmen!" Nightwing exclaimed, supporting Damian who was wounded by an arrow. His voice trembled with disbelief, and blood seeped from the wound on his forehead.

"That's... Cyborg? What did they do to him?" Damian pointed at Cyborg, who was being held by the killing machine, and asked angrily.

"I don't know, but they've blocked our way from the kidnapped Titans!" Green Arrow sighed, nocking an arrow and standing ready for battle.

"Look! There are so many Batmen who could be gay! Hehehe—hehehehe" Bane chuckled evilly, leaning forward and greedily scanning the Nightmare Batmen, as if selecting prey, his eyes filled with a morbid excitement.

Without saying much, Su Mo bent his knees slightly and shot out like a bullet.

He withstood the attacks of six Nightmare Batmen, weaving and dodging through punches, beams of light, and chains, dodging left and right, and finally managed to snatch Cyborg from their grasp.

In the brief few seconds it took to save him, he noticed that the six Batmen were missing the Destroyer, Red Death, and Dawn Lantern. In their place were three unfamiliar variants: Batman Martian Manhunter, Batman Little Anti-Monitor, and Batman Firestorm, each with completely different abilities and forms.

The fight, though short, was extremely dangerous.

The mind control of the Martian Manhunter Batman was like an invisible chain binding his consciousness, making him sluggish. Every time he raised his hand, it was like struggling in the mud. The Lasso of Truth thrown by the Merciless Iron Fist almost wrapped around his ankle.

Su Mo gritted his teeth, exerted his strength, and punched away from the attack of the Mantra Lasso. He barely managed to break free from the encirclement and rolled back while hugging Steel Bone.

Cyborg will be of paramount importance in future battles; the Mother Box within him could turn the tide of battle, making him indispensable for saving lives.

"Robin, Green Arrow, we must get out of here as soon as possible! End the mission! Run! Now!" Mr. Excellence warned everyone immediately, his voice urgent.

"Hehehehe, but where are you going to run to?" The Laughing Bat grinned, his right hand outstretched, his deformed, sharp nails revealing a black light, like five miniature daggers. His left hand gripped an iron chain, which he shook violently before hurling it at Mr. Excellence.

The chains whistled through the air like venomous snakes spitting their tongues, heading straight for Mr. Zhuoyue's throat.

"Look, I will still offer advice, just as I have in the past, only I will no longer play the detective or the hero. Because I have finally seen the truth: no matter how much you search for answers and seek your purpose, you will eventually only end up in one place. That is the darkness you are in now."

The Bat of Laughter's voice was deep and drawn-out, sending chills down one's spine.

He then looked at Su Mo, a mocking smile playing on his lips: "So what if you saved Steelbone? How are you going to run away now?"

Su Mo ignored the Laughing Bat, closed his eyes slightly, and silently counted in his mind: "Three...two...one!"

A dazzling white-gold beam of light shot down from the ceiling above everyone's heads, like a lightsaber piercing from the sky, forcing the Nightmare Batmen to retreat repeatedly. Even the Batman Who Laughs involuntarily raised his arm to shield his eyes.

At the center of the light, a figure clad in golden armor and wearing a golden helmet slowly emerged, surrounded by ancient magical runes that resembled flowing golden chains.

"Step back, nightmares from the Dark Multiverse!" Doctor Fate's voice was deep and authoritative, and magical power erupted instantly, creating a golden shockwave that forced the Nightmare Batmen back several steps.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Doctor!" Su Mo called out, hugging Steelbone and the unconscious Raven tightly in his arms, while anxiously urging, "Quick! Doctor, get us out of here!"

"No! My friend is still here!" Damian roared, shaking off Nightwing's hand, refusing to leave, his feet firmly planted on the ground.

"If you stay here, you will die. This is not your destiny, you must..." Doctor Fate advised, but he only got halfway through his sentence.

Su Mo was already one step ahead. In a flash, he circled behind Damian and delivered a nimble chop to the back of his neck, knocking him unconscious.

Damian's body went limp, and Su Mo pushed him towards Green Arrow, who caught him and held him in his arms.

"Enough with the nonsense." Su Mo withdrew his hand, saying expressionlessly, "Who can he beat? Is he just going to throw his life away?"

Doctor Fate glanced at Su Mo, said nothing, raised his cane, and tapped it lightly on the ground.

A golden ring rose from the ground, enveloping everyone within it. The space began to tremble, and everyone's figures blurred in the light.

The next second, they had left the ruins and maze of Gotham and appeared in Doctor Fate's tower.

The tower's interior walls are made of dark, ancient stone bricks, its dome is inlaid with twinkling stars, and the air is filled with the scent of sandalwood.

In the ruins of Gotham, the Batman Who Laughs and the Nightmare Batmen stood still, the rubble beneath their feet still emitting wisps of smoke.

The red electronic eyes on the slaughter machine's face flashed a few times, and a cold electronic voice came from behind its mask: "The Bat Who Laughs, why did you tell us to ignore them and let them go?"

The Bat of Laughter chuckled, his grin spreading to his ears, revealing a chilling expression: "Heh heh, that's because—everything is going according to plan."

Inside the tower, Dr. Fate and Mr. Excellence stood side by side in front of an arched French door.

"It is a pleasure to see you, old friend, but the future of the entire world is in grave danger, and even my tower cannot remain untouched by the darkness of Barbatos."

"Zatana has set up a secret rendezvous point elsewhere. Our companions are all assembled. Let's set off immediately," Dr. Fate said.

"And what's the story with this Mr. Su Mo?" Doctor Fate turned to Su Mo, scrutinizing him through the holes in his helmet with a hint of curiosity.

"Ah, I was asked by Daniel the Sandman to come and help," Su Mo said sincerely.

Doctor Fate paused slightly, his brow furrowing beneath his helmet with a hint of surprise: "Sandman?"

He paused for a moment, then nodded: "If it's the Sandman, then there shouldn't be a problem. That makes sense, the guardian of dreams versus the incarnation of nightmares."

Green Arrow carefully pulled the blood-stained N-metal arrow from Damian, who was lying on the ground. The sound of metal scraping against flesh was unsettling.

He examined the faintly glowing dark silver patterns on the arrowhead, the tip of which gleamed coldly under the light. He walked over thoughtfully, his footsteps echoing clearly on the stone pavement.

"Looks like we know how to deal with them." Green Arrow looked up, raising the arrow to eye level. "It's N metal."
