Chapter 83 The Eternal Message, Two Earths
"call!"
Su Mo looked at the azure Earth that had fully emerged from the portal and let out a long breath.
He raised his hand to wipe away non-existent cold sweat from his forehead. He had almost faced the Laughing Bat head-on; if they had actually met, he would have been doomed.
The Batman Who Laughs is now a chosen one in the DC Universe. For the sake of the story, the DC Universe will continue to empower Barbatos and the Batman Who Laughs until Barbatos successfully invades the main universe.
Only when that time comes will DC's destiny return to the superheroes, and then the standard ending of superheroes defeating evil villains will unfold.
Su Mo thought for a moment, then shook his head. But that was temporarily irrelevant to him. Perhaps he should just wait until the Metal Event was over before returning to the DC Universe? Before the final battle between the superheroes of the main universe and Barbatos, he would have plenty of time to develop slowly in this safe Marvel Universe.
While Su Mo was pondering, Levi's figure and Doctor Strange flew over from the void behind him.
Levi's face was as white as paper, his eyes were sunken, and he looked as if all his strength had been drained away.
Unfolding a cross-dimensional portal larger than Earth requires an immense amount of effort. He gave Su Mo a brief nod, said nothing, and was then helped away to rest by the King and other Kamar-Taj mages who had caught up with him.
Strange walked up to Su Mo, standing on a golden magic circle, floating in the universe.
"The Ancient One is looking for you," Strange said, his tone serious.
"Wasn't the Ancient One dead? What, did she go back to Kamar-Taj again?" Su Mo rolled his eyes. He was already used to the Ancient One's "dead but not completely dead" state.
"Yes, but this time it wasn't the Ancient One's own idea to come," Strange shook his head and explained, "it was Eternity's order."
Su Mo frowned. "Eternity? Did he bring this Earth to me?"
He looked back at the DC Earth that had just been teleported to him, which was now quietly hovering in orbit around the Alpha Centauri system.
"Maybe. Let's hurry up and get going, don't keep the Ancient One or Eternity waiting." Strange's tone was more serious than usual. Facing the absolute administrator of the Marvel Universe, even if the other party was the Ancient One's superior, he had to be cautious.
Su Mo nodded. "Okay."
He flew to the edge of Earth's atmosphere in DC and, through Martian Manhunter's telepathy, found Superman, who was calming the chaotic crowd with members of the Justice League.
"Superman, you and the Justice League should keep Earth calm. For now, don't let your people have too much contact with the other Earth."
"Another Earth?" Superman paused for a moment, his gaze piercing through the atmosphere to the distant starry sky. In that direction, he could vaguely see the sun's rays, and around that sun was another blue planet—the Earth of the Marvel Universe.
"Understood." Superman didn't ask any more questions, he just nodded.
Su Mo severed the mental connection and flew back to Strange's side.
Both Earths now possess space travel technology, so it's only a matter of time before they meet. Moreover, the commotion caused by opening the portal is immense; Marvel Earth's astronomical observatories are likely already working overtime to analyze the "new planet" that suddenly appeared on Alpha Centauri.
"Let's go," Su Mo said.
Strange ran his hands across the Eye of Agamotto, and golden magical runes surged from the gem, enveloping the two of them. Space twisted and folded before their eyes, and the next second, they found themselves in a star field that Su Mo had never seen before.
There are no stars, no planets, no nebulae. Only emptiness, and at the end of emptiness, a building floats—the Temple of Eternity.
Strange remained outside the hall, bowed slightly, and stepped aside.
Su Mo walked alone up the staircase of light and passed through the entrance of the temple. The interior of the hall was more spacious than he had imagined, the dome so high that the top was invisible, and the surrounding walls were a world in themselves, through which one could see the blue sky and white clouds. At the far end of the hall, a tall figure sat coiled.
Eternal.
He was tall and predominantly male. His skin had the texture of a black hole in the night sky, covered with galaxies, nebulae, and stardust; his body itself was a living universe. He had no hair, and several dark energy tentacles extended from his head, like the primordial rays of the beginning of the universe.
Its eyes were in jet-black sockets, with starlight slowly flowing within them. Its entire body was deep black, adorned with fluorescent starlight and cosmic patterns, exuding a minimalist yet majestic aura, so vast that it was almost impossible to look directly at it.
The Ancient One sat cross-legged in front of Eternity, wearing her familiar white robes, her bald head gleaming softly in the temple's light. She looked at Su Mo with a smile.
"Su Mo, we're looking for you because of the Earth you brought here," Gu Yi said, her voice calm but with a hint of solemnity.
"Does that mean DC elements aren't allowed in the Marvel Universe?" Su Mo asked immediately, speaking quickly. "If that's the case, then I'll take Earth out of this universe right away."
"No, that's not the main reason," Eternity spoke from behind the Ancient One. His voice was ethereal and majestic, carrying boundless power, as if countless people were speaking at the same time, overlapping each other, making Su Mo's chest resonate.
"Since you know about the DC and Marvel universes, you also know that DC and Marvel have had crossover publications. So it's not a big problem for DC characters to appear in Marvel content."
Eternity paused for a moment, its dark eyes seemingly gazing into the depths of Su Mo's soul.
"Most importantly, I can't get in touch with OAA anymore."
"OAA?" Su Mo's brows furrowed. Of course he knew who OAA was.
Above all things, the supreme ruler of the Marvel Omnipotent Universe, an existence transcending all matter, spirit, dimensions, and rules. But why is this related to the One-Above-All (OAA)?
"That's right." Eternity's voice echoed in the hall, "I summoned you here because the Earth you brought back carries the evil power of the DC universe."
That power originates from Barbatos, the dark god of the DC universe, and is a multiverse-level contamination. I can't contact my boss, and due to the rules, I can't leave this universe.
So I intervened and secretly erased the evil force on that Earth. Otherwise, the gods of the DC universe would have followed that force here, and that would have been a real catastrophe.
Looking at this Eternal, Su Mo secretly guessed: This might just be an avatar of the true Eternal. Otherwise, the other party wouldn't be afraid of Barbatos's power.
"So, in exchange, I need you to do something," Eternity continued. "Go find the Living Tribunal, or Eternity in other universes. This is my token; it will guide you to them."
A surge of energy emanated from Yongheng's palm, like a miniature universe, spinning and condensing, finally shrinking into a crystal the size of a walnut, which floated into Su Mo's hand.
"Alright, that's settled. I'll help conceal the Earth you brought. Even if the Living Tribunal comes to this universe in the future, they won't discover its anomalies." After saying that, Eternal waved his hand without waiting for Su Mo's reply.
Su Mo's figure vanished from the Temple of Eternity. The next second, he and Strange appeared together in front of the New York Sanctum on Marvel Earth. Strange, still reeling from the teleportation, asked curiously, "Su Mo, how did it go? Did Eternity say anything?"
Su Mo shook her head and didn't tell him.
After bidding farewell to Strange, Su Mo flew directly back to his Sky Eye Society base. The space carrier in the underground cavern rested quietly in the harbor, its lights casting long reflections on the dark water.
Pushing open the office door, Wanda was standing in front of the desk, holding a tablet in her hand. She looked up and saw him come in, giving him a smart smile.
During Su Mo's absence, the Sky Eye was managed exceptionally well by Wanda and Levi. Technology from the Invincible Young Hero world was continuously being transported over. The Sky Eye's growth was unstoppable, and it was now one of the most powerful forces on Marvel Earth.
Su Mo sat down in her chair, picked up a cup of bubble tea she had bought in China on the way, and took a sip. The brown sugar pearls were warm, sweet but not cloying, just right.
"Boss, besides the good news above, Tony Stark, the Iron Man of the Avengers, has brought back some bad news from space," Wanda reported shrewdly as she stood before her desk.
"Oh, what bad news did Tony bring back?" Su Mo asked, biting her straw.
"It's a planet devourer."
