After dinner, and after seeing Garland off, Ronin did not let the boys go back to rest.

In chaotic times, complacency will only lead to elimination; true refinement never stops.

He led everyone back to the training room from the daytime. The empty space left the boys puzzled, and they all looked at Luo Ning.

Before leaving, Garland had already compiled and sent him everyone's talent and physical data. Luo Ning knew everyone's weaknesses and strengths very well.

"Rohr, Bush, Finch. You three come out." Ronin called out three strong and physically capable teenagers, and stuck a note on each of their backs.

Then he called out Kiel and Leon. These two kids were quick-witted and best at assessing situations and using others' strengths against them. Ronin also stuck notes on their backs.

The two children glanced at each other, and without hesitation, walked to the center of the room.

Luo Ning then stuck notes on their backs.

"The rules for the three-team, two-person battle are simple: Roll, Bush, and Finch, your task is to protect each other's backs. If the note is torn up, you're out."

As Ronin spoke, he glanced at the two boys, Kiel and Leon. Clearly, these two quick-witted boys had already grasped Ronin's plan, and their faces showed obvious eagerness to try.

"You two's main target is the note behind those three people."

After listening to Luo Ning's words, the two children looked at each other, nodded, and walked to the left and right sides of the room.

But Luo Ning's plan wasn't over yet. He looked at the gloomy boy, but there were two notes, one on his chest and one on his back. "Lu Xiu, you can attack anyone, but whichever note gets torn up, you lose."

Lu Xiu nodded without saying a word, but turned and walked into a corner of the room, away from everyone, since he had two weaknesses.

"Lance, Woka, Bill," Ronin also stuck notes on their backs, "The three of you are free agents. You can't tear other people's notes, but you can be torn off. At the start, you're responsible for helping Gil and Leon hold off Rol, Busch, and Finch, and of course, Lucius. Once any one of those three is torn off, you immediately switch sides and cover the remaining two. Understand?"

The three boys nodded emphatically, their eyes full of anticipation.

Luo Ning raised his hand and placed it on the lighting control panel, smiling as he continued:

"Well, now that you all understand your place, let's begin when I turn off the lights! I'll give you points, and the person with the highest score can continue to eat well with me tomorrow. As for the others, they won't get any food."

The boys' eyes lit up when they heard Luo Ning's words.

Today was the first time in their short lives that they had eaten a truly upper-class dinner. Even now, they could still taste the lingering aroma of meat and oil in their mouths. Not to mention, every dish was exquisitely prepared and so clean that it was hard to believe.

Compared to the tasteless and filthy synthetic paste and corpse starch they used to eat, this was even farther than the legendary Holy Terra.

This sweet treat completely broke down their psychological defenses, and they were willing to go to great lengths to enjoy it again.

"Wait a minute, sir!"

Edward suddenly interrupted Ronin, and everyone's eyes were on him.

I want to participate too.

Luo Ning looked at him, a relieved smile appearing in his eyes.

He hadn't planned to let Ed, who had already suffered so much today, participate in this training. As long as Ed knew the rules, that would be enough. After all, Ed was injured and had been exhausted from accompanying Ronin all day.

However, since he was willing to take the initiative, Luo Ning naturally wouldn't refuse.

He stepped forward and stuck a note on Edward's chest and another on his back:

"Then you and Lu Xiu are under the same rules, but I'm warning you, you two aren't on the same team."

Hearing Ronin's words, Edward nodded silently. Clearly, he was thinking about something, but the next second, he stood behind Ronin.

Luo Ning immediately understood the kid's intentions: he planned to use him as a cover to prevent himself from becoming everyone's primary target.

This kid has finally learned to use his brain.

Immediately, he pressed the control panel and shouted, "Start!" Instantly, the room went dark. Even though the light from outside the window could shine in, it was still difficult to adjust at first, enough to cause everyone to be temporarily blinded.

Just a few seconds later, a crisp sound of paper tearing suddenly rang out.

"stop!"

Luo Ning stopped them, and the lights came back on.

Bill was pale and stood there stunned. He was already out of the game before he could even see who had done it.

The teenagers looked at each other, their initial naivety gone. No one treated this as a game anymore; instead, they were filled with vigilance and wariness.

Luo Ning smiled; he had seen everything that had just happened.

Although he is just an ordinary person, he specially wore a low-light optical patch today, which is essentially a contact lens to enhance night vision, a basic civilian device.

Just now, in the instant the lights were turned off, Lu Xiu had already moved with lightning speed.

He didn't even choose Lance, who was closest to him and seemed the most careless, but instead attacked Bill, who was next to him. After succeeding, he immediately retreated, pretending to have done nothing, perfectly lowering everyone's guard.

"Who is it! So sneaky!" Bill shouted angrily, his gaze sweeping over Lucius and Edward, but he couldn't see any flaws. However, both of them were obviously far away from him. He looked at his companions, but only got blank looks in return.

Ronin beckoned Bill to step aside and pressed the switch again: "Continue!"

This time, even Lu Xiu did not make a move easily.

Having learned from their previous experience, everyone moved closer to the wall, cautiously observing their surroundings to avoid being caught in the trap.

The trio in the center of the field stood back to back, forming a perfect defense without leaving any openings.

In that instant, it seemed as if even the air itself had frozen. What was supposed to be a game-like training session turned into a life-or-death struggle for the boys.

Luo Ning watched quietly, waiting for someone to break the deadlock.

Just then, Edward started to move.

His target was the shadowy area in the room.

After all, although the streetlights outside the window can still illuminate the room, there will always be shadows where there is light, and the person who sneaks into the shadows first will have the greatest advantage.

Unfortunately, the place Edward went to had already been occupied by Leon.

He, like a hunter waiting for his prey to fall into his net, noticed Edward's movements immediately.
