This adventurer is overly righteous.

Chapter 29 Departure, Heading to the Mission Location

Salis reached out, wanting to touch Chroya's face.

"What mission did you accept? I don't think anything involving fighting and killing is suitable for you. You're really beautiful..."

"Would you like to return to my convent and discuss your vows of celibacy?"

Salis made no attempt to hide her desire; she stared at Chroya and licked her lips.

Salis was quite confident in her abilities. The Adventurers' Guild did not give preferential treatment to female adventurers. The standards for becoming an elite adventurer were the same for both men and women. Female elite adventurers like Salis were relatively rare.

Moreover, she is young and beautiful, and has always had many suitors, but most of them are adventurers, whom she does not like.

Those adventurers were rude and unrestrained, with large, stiff muscles all over their bodies, and some even had unpleasant body odor and thick hair, which was really unacceptable to her.

She likes someone like Chloe; he's so cute.

There are only two reasons why someone would want to become an adventurer: either they are short of money or they want to hone their skills. Salis believes she can satisfy those needs.

However, Kroya grabbed Salis's wrist in mid-air, stopping her fingers about three fingers' distance in front of him.

What incredible strength!

A force that was completely different from the other person's quiet appearance came from her wrist, which surprised Salis. It meant that the other person's strength had reached at least the F level.

Many seasoned adventurers may not possess such power.

"My name is Chroya," the boy in front of her said, pushing Salis's hand away. "Could you please move a little further away from me?"

"There's no need to be so heartless. You must be a new adventurer. If you'd like, I can be your teacher." Salis didn't back down; being rejected was expected. As an adventurer, she naturally had a persistent spirit. "I just think you look nice..."

"Salice, are you going to continue this charade?"

Millie, who had been watching the situation closely, spoke up, and her voice reached the ears of all the adventurers present with perfect clarity.

"Is this one of the advantages of being good-looking?"

"I really envy that kid..."

The adventurers wore complicated expressions. Millie, as the receptionist of the Adventurers' Guild, was also exceptionally beautiful and had a great presence. Now it looked like two beauties were fighting over that white guy, which was really annoying.

The guy looked thin and small, his body hidden under loose clothing, so you couldn't see any muscles. Yet, this callow youth managed to win the favor of two beauties with his looks alone.

"I bet that kid won't even finish the first task, and in a few days he'll be crying and begging Miss Millie to refund his membership fee..."

Some adventurers thought maliciously, at least they couldn't see the ferocity and power that Kroya should have as an adventurer.

Among the adventurers who showed fierce expressions, a considerable number were Salis's past suitors.

"He already said to stay away from him and not to bother Mr. Kroya too much, otherwise we will consider your behavior as causing trouble within the Adventurers' Guild."

Millie continued speaking, which only fueled the adventurers' imaginations, and even though Salis was reluctant, she had no choice but to take a few steps back.

"You can come to me anytime if you encounter any problems."

With those words left behind, Salis departed with regret. As the receptionist of the Adventurers' Guild, Millie naturally had the responsibility to maintain order within the guild. She was helpless against the other party and could only secretly include her in the list of rivals.

As far as Salis knew, there were quite a few female adventurers in the Whitestone Town Adventurers' Guild who shared her interests, and the sooner she acted, the more opportunities she would have.

"Really..."

Millie shook her head helplessly. Men like Kroya were hot commodities among female adventurers, and such entanglements were inevitable in the future.

"Thank you very much." Kroya stood up to leave the Adventurers' Guild. It turned out he couldn't stay in such a crowded place for too long, or all sorts of weirdos would spawn. "Miss Millie, could you please keep my reward for me? I'd like to come back for it after I finish my mission."

"No problem."

After receiving Miss Millie's affirmative reply, Kroya decisively left the Adventurers' Guild, packed his belongings, and headed to the quest location.

The bow, arrows, water jug, enough food for three days, and a book that he had previously obtained from Mousse were all that was in Kroya's pack; he was wearing all the other weapons and equipment.

"Twelve copper coins."

"That's really expensive..."

Kroya found an oxcart that happened to be passing through the mission area. He talked to the driver, but the price the driver quoted was shockingly high, three times the price he had paid when he went to Nom Village.

"There are goblins in the place you're going to," the driver gestured with his chin. "Going there involves the risk of being attacked by goblins, so it'll definitely be more expensive."

Kroya knew the other party was trying to find an excuse to rip him off, since he didn't provide protection against goblin attacks and was going the same way as Kroya, so raising the price made no sense.

"I went there to kill goblins."

"You?" The car owner glanced at Croa and looked him up and down carefully.

He had a sword hanging at his waist and a pack on his back. He wore no armor and looked neither strong nor fierce. His fair skin made even pampered young masters feel inferior. Such a person was going to hunt down those fierce goblins.

"You might not be able to do it. Goblins may be small, but they're still very dangerous!"

Kroya knew that he was probably being subjected to unwarranted malice again because of his appearance.

"Fine, fine, I'll give you a discount, okay?" Then the driver put on a show of having been ripped off, "Eight copper coins, I'll take you there, how about that?"

"Let's go then."

Croya didn't want to waste time arguing with the driver, so the oxcart set off on the uneven road. There were occasional bumps along the way, and Croya held the book he had been reading earlier, leaning against the guardrail on the side of the oxcart and reading silently.

After a long while, Croya solemnly put down the book, drew his sword, which gleamed coldly in the sunlight, and then took out the bow and arrows he had put in his bundle. He squatted on the carriage and looked around warily.

"Hey buddy, what's wrong?"

Such a commotion naturally did not escape the ears of the coachman, who looked at Kroya warily.

What is he doing? Is he going to attack me?

I admit I cheated the other party out of some money, but it's not worth it. It was only eight copper coins!

There is something around us.

Sensing intense malice, Croya whispered to the coachman.

"Um, buddy, are you being too nervous? I didn't see anything..."

The coachman couldn't help but feel uneasy. He had indeed heard that there were quite a few goblins in this area, but no one had said that they would be bold enough to ambush human vehicles on the road.
