"Try the flame," Schneider frowned; the effect was far too weak.

Frilian raised her wand again: "Word of Power - Magician - Flame".

This time, a small flame appeared at the tip of the wand, burned shakily for three seconds, and then went out with a "poof".

Chu Zihang compared his own Monarch Flame with the small flame in front of him, "Its power is limited."

Lu Mingfei's face turned red from trying not to laugh. Before coming to Kassel, he had personally witnessed Frilian freeze the entire lake surface with a wave of her hand or summon a fireball that could light up the night sky.

“The last one, the light attribute,” Schneider said.

Frillie took a deep breath, beads of sweat dripping down her face, and gently waved her wand: "Word of Power - Magician - Light".

A soft light appeared, about the brightness of a small nightlight, and then went out after five seconds.

Schneider sighed and wrote on the evaluation form: "Mutant Word Magician, multi-elemental manipulation but weak power and poor endurance, recommended for training as a support personnel."

Frillie walked "weakly" to Lu Mingfei's side and whispered, "How are you?"

Lu Mingfei gave a thumbs up: "Best actress level."

Caesar, standing behind Lu Mingfei, nudged Chu Zihang. "What do you think?"

"Close relationship." Chu Zihang felt like he and Caesar were two third wheels, watching the comedic performance brought by Lu Mingfei and Frilian.

In the afternoon, Lu Mingfei nervously knocked on the principal's office door with his club application form in hand.

Angers, sipping his black tea and admiring the view outside the window, greeted him with a smile as he entered, asking, "Mingfei, what's up?"

“Principal, I would like to start a new club,” Lu Mingfei said, handing over his application. “It will be called the ‘Mage Guild’.”

Angers glanced at the application and his smile deepened: "Oh? With your friend Frilian?"

"Yes, it's about taking on missions and researching magic and alchemy," Lu Mingfei said, his voice trailing off.

Angers waved his hand and signed his name on the application: "Approved. Let's set the location at the Norton House. It's just sitting empty anyway. Didn't Caesar entrust that place to you?"

Lu Mingfei's eyes widened: "Really?!"

“Of course,” Angers blinked, “but you’ll have to cover the renovation costs yourselves.”

Lu Mingfei wanted to wail, "I can't afford this money at all!" But then, "Bang!" The office door was pushed open.

“I’ll cover the renovation costs,” Caesar said, leaning against the doorframe and waving a black card in his hand. “Consider it my personal donation to you.”

"May I ask what the conditions are?" Generally speaking, free things are the most expensive, and Lu Mingfei had seen his aunt's family get ripped off before.

Caesar smiled: "Prioritizing the student council's requests shouldn't be too difficult, right?"

Lu Mingfei thought for a moment, then nodded: "Deal!"

Three hours later, Lu Mingfei stood in front of the newly renovated Norton Building, his jaw almost dropping to the ground.

The once elegant and luxurious English-style villa has now completely changed its appearance.

The exterior walls were covered with glowing vines that Frillian had magically grown, the porch was adorned with wind chimes inlaid with elven runes, and in the hall stood a crystal-carved "World Tree" with its canopy reaching the ceiling and its branches and leaves studded with star-like magical sparkles.

"This," Lu Mingfei stammered, "isn't it a bit too much?"

Frillie tilted her head: "Isn't it pretty?"

"It's not that it's bad-looking," Lu Mingfei said, rubbing his forehead, "but this style just doesn't seem like it's from Earth!"

Caesar was quite satisfied: "I think it's very good, tasteful."

That evening, Frilian pressed Lu Mingfei into a chair and took out a silver comb.

"What are you going to do?" Lu Mingfei asked warily.

“I’ll give you a new look,” Frilian said. “You’re the student council president now, you need to have some presence.”

She gently combed Lu Mingfei's hair, chanting an ancient incantation.

Her hair gradually became smooth and shiny with her movements, even tinged with a faint golden hue, as if kissed by the sun.

"What kind of magic is this?" Lu Mingfei asked curiously.

“‘The magic that makes hair smooth,’” Frilian said calmly. “I used to receive this as payment for repairing houses while I was traveling.”

Lu Mingfei became increasingly curious about what Frilian had done in the past. "What a strange deal."

Next, Frilian took out a set of traditional elven attire—a dark green robe embroidered with silver thread, a mithril chain belt around her waist, and a World Tree emblem pinned to her shoulder.

"Is this what you got in exchange?" Lu Mingfei put on the clothes, which surprisingly fit him perfectly.

“No, I made this myself,” Frilian said with a hint of pride. “I used a Thunderbird feather and some fabric I got from the Swamp Witch.”

Standing in front of the mirror, Lu Mingfei almost didn't recognize himself. His messy hair had become neat and tidy, and his already handsome features had a touch of mystery when set off by his elven attire.

"How is it?" Frilian asked.

Lu Mingfei turned around and gave her an awkward elven greeting: "Greetings, Your Excellency, the Mage Frilian."

Frillie paused for a moment, then laughed and pinched his cheek. "Pretty funny."

Chapter 13 Club Recruitment

Lu Mingfei stood in front of the makeshift recruitment booth, holding a handwritten sign that read, "Want to get stronger? Then join us! S-rank will take you flying!" This thing was obviously Fingel's idea.

Frillie sat quietly to one side, holding a copy of "The Foundations of Modern Alchemy," seemingly oblivious to the noisy crowd around her.

Even so, a long line still formed in front of her table, all of them boys.

"Frilian, junior! Please give me your autograph!"

"Junior! Your Word of Power is so cool! Can you show me?"

"Junior! What type of guy do you like?!"

Lu Mingfei's lips twitched, wondering if these people were here to join a club or to go on blind dates.

"Ahem!" He slammed his fist on the table. "Everyone! Our 'Mage Guild' primarily focuses on researching magic and the power of words, undertaking various adventure missions, and occasionally conducting alchemical experiments—"

"—And to admire beautiful girls up close!" Fingel added with a grin.

Lu Mingfei kicked him and said, "Get out of the way!"

Among the people queuing, a girl wearing round-framed glasses timidly raised her hand: "Um, I'm Lin Xia, a freshman in Class B. My Word of Power is 'Hypnosis,' which can make people fall asleep briefly. I don't know if that meets the club's requirements?"

Lu Mingfei's eyes lit up: "Hypnosis? That's so useful! From now on, anyone in the club who has insomnia will come to you!"

Lin Xia blushed: "It's not that amazing. I can only put someone to sleep for three minutes at most."

"Three minutes is enough!" Lu Mingfei decided. "Welcome to the team!"

Immediately afterward, a burly boy squeezed to the front of the table, grinning: "B-level freshman Horus, Word of Power 'Ghost Victory', pain disappears for a short time, and power doubles."

Lu Mingfei felt that this strength-type warrior should seek out established clubs like the student council or the Lionheart Society. Frilian looked up and said, "That would be useful."

Horuston was immediately flattered: "Really?!"

"Of course!" Lu Mingfei patted him on the shoulder. "From now on, you'll be our guild's tank. No, I mean, a key member!"

The recruitment was in full swing when two familiar faces approached: Ye Sheng and Jiu Deya.

"I heard you guys started a new club?" Ye Sheng said with a smile, handing over a box of donuts. "We've come to join in the fun."

"Yes, welcome." Frillie picked up a donut and took a small bite. The freshly baked donut was crispy and fragrant.

Lu Mingfei was surprised: "Are the senior students joining too?"

Jiu Deya blinked and nudged Ye Sheng, "The Execution Department doesn't have many tasks lately, so joining a club isn't a bad thing, right?"

"Haha, I didn't expect Mingfei to form his own club." Ye Sheng dodged Jiu Deya's elbow strike.

Lu Mingfei was so moved he almost cried; his seniors were so reliable!

"Oh, right, Senior Ye Sheng, Senior Aki, are you free this afternoon?" Lu Mingfei asked, taking the half-eaten donut from Frillie.

"Yes, what's wrong?" Ye Sheng and Jiu Deyaqi have been quite idle lately, wandering around everywhere, and their relationship has been rapidly warming up.

"Come to the Norton Pavilion this afternoon, there's a surprise," Frilline answered for Lu Mingfei; this idea was hers.

In the afternoon, at the Norton Hall.

Lu Mingfei was busy laying out a huge board game map on the oak table, while Frilian floated in the air and used magic to transport several bags of snacks and drinks from the other side of the cabinet.

“Um, Frillian?” Lu Mingfei wiped the sweat from his forehead. “It’s best to use magic less in daily life. You scared Fingel quite a bit last time; he thought it was haunted.”

The elven mage landed lightly on the ground, expressionlessly tearing open a bag of potato chips. "Using magic is more efficient. Fingel is too noisy; it'll be good to scare him a little."

With a creak, the door was pushed open, and Ye Sheng and Jiu Deya walked in, followed by two newly recruited members.

Ye Sheng was wearing a casual plaid shirt, while Jiu Deya was wearing a light green dress, a stark contrast to their usual uniforms from the Executive Department.

"We're here. What's the surprise?" Ye Sheng asked, staring at the map on the table.

Ta-da! Frillie pulled out a board game set called "Demon King and Hero".

“I’ll be the referee,” Frilian said, expertly shuffling the character cards. “Ye Sheng is the hero, Aki is the priestess, Lin Xia is the bard, and Horus is the berserker.”

"What about me?" Lu Mingfei raised his hand.

Frilian drew a card: "You are the Demon King."

Lu Mingfei: "Why?!"

“So, the story begins on a continent shrouded in darkness,” Frilian said slowly.

In the first round, the hero needs to traverse the Dark Forest. Ye Sheng rolls the dice and gets a terrible 2.

“You have encountered three werewolves,” Frilian read from the event card. “They demand that you answer a riddle, or they will attack.”

"Can I use the power of words?" Ye Sheng asked.

“Okay,” Frillie nodded.

"Word of Power: Serpent of Vacuum." Ye Sheng picked up the dice and threw them, landing a perfect 20. "I scouted this area beforehand and know the answer to the werewolf's riddle."

"You have successfully answered the werewolf's riddle and passed smoothly."

Midway through the game, Lin Xia's bard attempts to confuse the guards with music.

"I want to use Word of Power: Hypnosis!" she said, clasping her hands together in a pleading gesture.

“Passed,” Frilian nodded. “The guard is asleep.”
