Cyberpunk: I didn't cheat.

Chapter 18 Last Night's Tide

"Hahaha, Peppy, you really should ride in Vito's car. It's as fast as in an old movie, uh, what's it called again, that bald guy?"

"fast and Furious."

"Right! Fast and Furious! Vito, you have a good memory!"

Jack and Vito sat in their usual spot, several bottles of Dionysus 400 opened in front of them. Pepi was nearly overwhelmed with work today, juggling entertaining the Valentino gang of drunkards while listening to Jack's demands for the day.

"Alright, Peggy, I'll take care of the bar. We have a lot of customers today, you can't be in two places at once."

A woman with graying hair called Pepi out.

"Uh, Mom, what brings you here?"

Mrs. Wells laughed when she heard her son's silly question.

"This place is called Wild Wolf Bar, not Jack's Bar. I'm so busy today, I have to come and look after my little shop."

As Mrs. Wells spoke, she cut a plate of lemons for the two of them.

"Mom, you're getting old, you should rest more. I'm here for you!"

Mrs. Wells removed the empty bottles from the bar and smiled.

"Really? I'm not so old that I can't move, and all I see is poor Peppy being busy non-stop, while my son is like an old-fashioned engine, constantly being pumped with alcohol."

Jack shrank back and complained.

"Mom, don't talk about me when my good buddy is sitting here! Oh, by the way, Mom, let me introduce you, this is Vito."

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Mrs. Wells."

"It's a pleasure to meet you too, Vito. I've heard your name mentioned by people around here tonight. You're a great lad. Come over for dinner more often."

"I will, Mrs. Wells."

"Alright, I won't interrupt the two young people's conversation. We Gen Z kids are almost being left behind by society. Jack, you take care of the bar. Today is your big day, but promise me you won't empty the liquor cabinet, okay?"

Jack single-handedly flipped the bar over the table.

"Just you wait, Mom, your son can handle everything!"

Mrs. Wells smiled at her son's reckless behavior, gave Jack a few instructions, and then went upstairs.

Jack breathed a sigh of relief when he saw his mother leave.

"Phew~ To be honest, I'm really afraid of my mom."

Vito took a bite of the lemon and laughed.

"I didn't realize that Mr. Jack Wells, who isn't afraid of bullets, is afraid of his own mother."

Jack picked up a slice of lemon, put it in his mouth and chewed it haphazardly, then downed the sour taste with a glass of 400g Rabbit Tequila.

"It's not that kind of fear, I'm afraid of disappointing and hurting my mom."

This surprised Vito a bit, and he immediately put on a listening posture.

"I used to be in the Valentino gang. Once, I was shot in a shootout with the Sixth Street gang and was in the hospital. When I saw my mother crying uncontrollably, I decided to leave the gang."

Vito poured Jack a glass and said.

"A short, ugly mule really has no future; he might just end up dead in the street one day."

At this moment, several members of the Valentino gang came over to offer a toast.

"Uh, hello, are you Vito?"

Vito turned around and answered.

"If there's no other person named Vito here, then that's me. What brings you here?"

The men raised their glasses.

"No harm done, just came to have a few drinks. Jack is our brother, we're here to congratulate him and his partner."

Vito picked up the bottle.

"A few drinks aren't enough! Let's have a few more bottles, I'll pay for them!"

Alcohol is the best catalyst for relationships, and after a few bottles, the group started talking non-stop.

A gang member named Pollivet told the others an urban legend.

"Do you know the Orca? That legendary submarine from back then!"

Everyone immediately transformed into the teacher's straight man.

"I've heard it a few times, why don't you tell me in detail?"

Pollyville was pleased and continued.

"There used to be several big shots in Los Santos, one of whom, Pavel, was the helmsman of this orca!"

One of the gang members asked, puzzled.

"He's a big shot, shouldn't he be the captain?"

Pollyville pressed his hand down into the air.

"Don't rush, let me finish. Pavel is a big shot, but his boss, the one nicknamed 'Little Mute,' is the captain."

Jack began to speak.

"Little mute is not a nice nickname."

"Don't let the unpleasant nickname fool you, that man is a true legend. Anyone who crosses him will suffer the consequences. He could turn Los Santos upside down!"

Jack poured him a glass of wine.

"Go on."

Polliwell took a sip of wine to moisten his throat and then spoke.

"Pavel was in charge of getting the little mute onto the island. The island is rich, but it's controlled by a blond boss with hundreds of men and countless weapons and equipment. But there's nothing the little mute can do; in his eyes, the island is practically undefended!"

Pollyville paused, glanced at the expectant looks in the eyes of the people around him, and then continued.

"The little mute goes to the blond boss's vault every few days to take things, and what he takes most often is a kind of good wine. Do you know what it is?"

Vito's lips twitched, and he couldn't help but say something.

"Aha, Sisimito!"

Polliwell was taken aback.

How did you know?

Vito waved his hand.

"You continue."

Pollivel continued.

"Later, the little mute went to Sin City, and Pavel retired, but the orca had an accident. It sank into the sea, taking countless agave plants with it, and now lies quietly on a continental shelf!"

Jack sighed.

"So many top-quality agave plants have been ruined just like that."

"It's not destroyed!"

Pollyville interrupted Jack.

"I heard that Arasaka Yoriyuki, the son of the Arasaka Group's chairman who loves rock music and runs a yakuza gang, has found a killer whale. Now he's not only got a lot of original products, but he's also preparing to produce a new type of Cissimito tequila exclusively for the rich!"

One of the gang members interrupted Pollivet.

"How does someone like you, who hangs around on the streets, know about Arasaka Yorinobu? Did he call you?"

Everyone burst into laughter after hearing this, except for Polliwell, whose face turned completely red as he spoke.

"Damn! Believe it or not, not everyone knows this."

After a while of laughter and merriment, Valentino and his gang said goodbye and went to other tables to continue drinking, leaving the bar to be the private domain of the Jack and Vito brothers.

Jack exclaimed.

"If I could drink Cissimito, I would have no regrets in this life!"

Vito laughed.

"If this wine really exists, it shouldn't be difficult for Night City Legends to get a bottle, but the prerequisite is that the legends are alive."

Jack became interested and said.

"Every Night City legend has a cocktail recipe. Let's think about it now, so we don't stammer when people ask us about it later."

"Okay, you go first."

"Hmm~ Let me think, a glass of vodka, ice, lime juice, and some ginger beer, oh right, and one more essential ingredient."

"A little love?"

"That's so right, Mano, you understand me so well. What's your recipe?"

"Let me think, a glass of rum, no ice, a bit of high-proof alcohol, five drops of chili oil, oh right, and a slice of lemon on credit."

"Holy crap, that sounds amazing!"

Jack exclaimed in surprise, but then smiled.

"But that sounds legendary!"
