Cyberpunk: I didn't cheat.

Chapter 64 No More Hesitation

Vito toured the entire camp and gained a deeper understanding of the Snakesbane camp.

This camp, set up in the wilderness, lacked water, electricity, and heavy firepower.

It was clearly a newly moved, temporary camp. The food options were limited, consisting mostly of protein chunks that could only provide basic sustenance.

Some of them still had fresh wounds, and a few were arguing about fuel.

The children at the camp huddled inside their tents, and no one dared to come out to chase or play.

The entire camp is now in a state of high alert, likely because it was attacked by the Bayonet Gang some time ago.

Therefore, Vito could find the Bayonet Gang's stronghold on his own without Max's help, but Max couldn't. He was spending a lot of money every day feeding and feeding the Snake Gang, and without a safe camp and stable supplies, the Snake Gang would completely collapse in 2077.

Max knew, of course, that Vito was using the excuse of wandering around the camp to test his mettle. He couldn’t stop Vito, because a group of demoralized vagrants couldn’t be a triumphant army.

He just wanted to see how many problems Vito could spot, and whether Vito was as formidable as the rumors suggested.

"Alright, Chief Max, we can talk about cooperation now. Your camp is being bleed dry by the Bayonet Gang, and I can help you."

"Oh? How so? You probably don't understand us homeless people, we..."

Vito interrupted Max.

"You were attacked not long ago and lost a lot of things, but it doesn't matter. As long as you find the Night Wanderer's camp, you can get all of these things back."

Give me information about the Bayonet Gang, and come with me to their hideout. We'll wipe them out in one fell swoop.

Max also interrupted Vito.

"Things aren't as simple as you think. To be honest, the Bayonet Gang has a company behind them, and they have a lot of combat robots. Our men were already at a disadvantage in terms of firepower in the last battle."

We, the people of Snake State, are not cowards. We would not leave our homeland unless absolutely necessary.

Moreover, the Bayonet Gang members are similar to vagrants; even if you find a camp, they can quickly move on, making it very difficult to wipe them all out.

Vito stroked his chin, summarizing the information he had gathered.

The company behind the Bayonet Gang is likely a biotechnology company. The only support the Bayonet Gang received from the biotechnology company was probably funding. The Bayonet Gang's combat robots wouldn't be top-of-the-line products; they're probably just civilian security modifications sold by Kangtao or military technology companies.

"Are their robots Compaut or military-grade?"

"The Kangtaomin Type 3, but it may have been fitted with combat chips. These robots are all ridiculously powerful."

Vito immediately had an idea upon hearing this.

"If you can take down the robots, can you infiltrate the Night Wanderers' lair?"

Max made a mental estimate and then said.

"cannot."

"I'm glad you're being so open with me now, but to be honest, Max, it's really discouraging."

Vito said helplessly.

"Why? Didn't you say before that you were at a disadvantage because of the Bayonet Gang's robots?"

Jack was puzzled.

"Because the Bayonet Gang scum attacked our camp last time, we lost a lot of heavy firepower, and now none of us have many decent weapons."

Carlo explained.

"I can get Adcado to send us a batch of weapons; we have a good relationship with them, but we'll have to wait."

Recently, all shipments related to the Snake Gang have been hijacked by the Bayonet Gang; they're hunting us down like wolves in the wasteland.

After hearing this, Vito immediately disabled all the surrounding cameras. This sudden turn of events made Carlo nervously draw his gun.

"Isn't it obvious? You've got a mole in your own backyard. This person knows quite a bit about Snake Gang."

Vito pointed out the problem.

Max had long suspected there was a mole within the family. He knew what Vito was worried about: that the mole was eavesdropping on their plans. He gestured for Carlo to put his gun away.

"I sense there's a mole within the Snake Gang, but I'm not sure who it is."

Carlo was shocked. He knew everyone in the Snake Gang, and he couldn't imagine who would betray their brothers and sisters to the Night Wanderer.

"Then we need to find this guy!"

"No, there's no time for spy games, Max. Let's work together. I have a plan."

Vito reached out his hand to Max.

After a verbal exchange and some probing, Max realized that Vito wasn't the kind of half-baked mercenary he was, and he took Vito's hand.

Tell me your plans, and I'll consider working with you.

Vito explained the first step of the plan.

"We need to go to Adcado to get some heavy firepower first. I have a small batch in my shop, but they are all custom-made and not cheap. If you want them, I can give you a discount."

"Getting back to the point, Jack and Carol, first go and communicate with Adcardo's people to transport weapons and ammunition. Just the two of you go, don't tell anyone. Have Adcardo's men handle the delivery; Max will pay you extra, but you have to be quick. Once you're there, load everything up and be back the same day."

After Vito finished speaking, he looked at Max, and Max nodded to Carlo.

"Okay, you can go ahead."

After the two left, Vito continued.

"If Carlo has any problems, Jack will give him a bullet."

Max nodded, but he was still willing to believe Carlo.

"That child was raised by me; he wouldn't betray his family in the Snake Clan."

Vito nodded.

"Okay, the second step is that I see you have some old ammunition. I can make an electromagnetic bomb. I will take the electromagnetic bomb in and detonate it among the Night Wanderer's robots. Then I will give you a signal, and your people can attack."

"Why not just use drones to drop the bombs first, and then you and my men go in together? Wouldn't that be safer?"

"You know there are companies colluding with the Bayonet Gang. I need to find data on their cooperation. Using an electromagnetic bomb would corrupt the data, and I can't take that risk."

Max narrowed his eyes.

"So this is the commission you received. Fine, but you'll have to bear the risks yourself. I won't send my men to their deaths if the electromagnetic bomb malfunctions or fails to detonate."

Vito laughed.

"While that's true, Max, why is your way of expressing it so unpleasant to hear?"

Max also twitched the corner of his mouth.

"But one thing, how can you guarantee you'll find the Bayonet Gang's camp?"

Do you know what a hornet is?

"I know, but I've never seen it. This wasteland was wiped out a long time ago."

Vito patiently explained.

"At Dongda University, hornets are very dangerous. Like the bayonet gang, they set up their nests in hidden places and come out to hurt people from time to time."

The people there devised a method: they used the hornets' carnivorous nature to lure them out of their nests, then tagged them with symbols. After the hornets had eaten their fill, they would fly back to their nests, leaving the nest exposed and the hornets wiped out.

Max listened thoughtfully.

"Good, a good plan. Snake Gang is willing to cooperate with you. Although it's too early to say anything now, to avoid disputes later, we should discuss the distribution of the spoils."
